My love

Paedyn POV

"Are you sure this is a good idea Azer?" I whisper as we approach the castle in the dark. we waited in the poppy field until it was dark and now we are here at this shitty palace trying to heal our wounds. 

"positive Gray," Kai whispers back. "all I need is to get close enough to a healer then we can heal our cuts and be on our way." 

while cutting off the chain we both got deep cuts on our feet so if we don't do this we will be dead in an hour anyways. I sigh slightly limping when he freezes in place. I see him close his eyes and then I feel my wounds start to heal. he grips my hand a little tighter as he concentrates. 

after a few minutes both of our bodies are cut free. "Alright let's get out of this hell hole" I whisper. 

he starts to lead me away from the castle when he suddenly stops. "Kai?" I try to find what he is staring at. my gaze fixes on the willow tree. the tree where Ava is buried. there is a small candle light coming from behind the branches and I see a tiny bit of blonde hair through the thick leaves. Kitt. "Kai we have to go" I say quietly 

"I can't just leave him Pae. no matter how much I hate him he is still my brother. he is grieving our father." he says and  can see a crack in his mask.

"Kai, I am leaving. if you want to stay with the king that is your choice but I want you to come with me.... please."  

he stands there for a few minutes not saying anything before he goes invisible. there must be a veil near bye. "kai?" I whisper. 

I feel him let go of my hand and arms around my waist. "go to the place we met. I will meet you there with food, water, clothes, money and anything we will need for our trip through the Scorches." he whispers in my ear, his hot breath on my neck. i nod and disappear into the darkness.

I am standing in the shadows of the alley where we first met. I have a scarf over my hair and face so if a homeless mundane  does wake up they will not be able to tell who I am. I feel a hand wrap around my mouth and I am about to fight back when a familiar voice quietly says, "don't even think about putting a knife to my throat Gray" 

I relax into his arms when I hear his voice and Kai moves his hand away from my mouth. he quickly turns me around and flips us so my back is against a wall. "what are you-" I don't finish before  he moves my scarf and his lips are on mine. I am confused for a second before I see two Imperials walking by. they take one look at us before quickly looking away disgusted. they are the second idiots to fall for this. I smile and continue kissing Kai. 

I wrap my arms around his neck and Kai lifts me up by my thighs pushing my back against the wall. my legs wrap around his hips and he puts his hands under my thighs. he presses my back harder against the wall and he moves his lips to my neck kissing the scar his father gave me. "Kai they are gone" I say breathlessly as my head falls back. 

"I know" he says against my neck. he pulls his face away from my neck and sets me down but keeps one of my legs wrapped around his hips. he kisses my forehead then my cheeks then my nose gently. "my love, my Pae" he whispers against my hair as he kisses the top of my head. 

i pull back and look into his deep gray eyes. "my love?" i whisper 

he nods before kissing me softly. "my love" he mumbles against my lips. 

after a few minutes we walk away from the slums and we get on a horse that Kai stole from the castle. then we head out in the dark of the night to the scorches.
