Kai's POV
I wake up to the feeling of a Volt nearby. this has been happening the last few days. at first I thought it was just Octavia because her bedroom was next to Pae's but the room we slept in last night is far away from all the other rooms in the castle. as I sit up I look down at Paedyn. she is curled on her side with the silk sheets coming up to her shoulders. my God she is the most beautiful woman in the world. I can't keep my eyes off her. she is my wife... I don't think I will ever get used to that.
I watch her sleep for a few more minutes before I get up out of bed and I look for my pants. her wedding dress is still on the floor and my clothes are all over the place. I find my pants next to the bed and as I pull them on I look at the clock. It's 10:18 AM I only got 5 hours of sleep but whatever I have lived with less.
I pull on my shirt and put on my shoes. I want to go get Pae some breakfast and I want her to sleep more so I am being as quiet as I can as I quickly search the room. I check if anyone is in here because I keep feeling a Volt and it's driving me crazy. I check every possible place that a person could be and there is no one here besides me and Pae. I don't know, maybe I am going crazy because my mom was a Volt.
I kiss Paedyn's head softly hoping she doesn't wake up and I walk out of the room quietly. as I walk further and further away from the room the Volt feeling starts to vanish.
that's when I realize that it's Pae. she is the Volt?

Pae's POV
when I wake up I slowly open my eyes to see Kai pacing around the room. his arms are crossed and he is biting his lip as he walks back and forth. as I sit up and rub my eyes he still doesn't look at me, I frown until I see the bowl of blueberries on the table next to the bed. it must be too late in the day for an actual breakfast. I grab the bowl and I start eating the fruit. "you wanna tell me what's wrong with you?" I ask as I eat.
he suddenly stops pacing and looks at me with a serious look on his face. "I think you're pregnant" he says bluntly before he continues walking around the room.
I can't help but start laughing. "that's very funny Kai" when he doesn't start laughing I stop. "wait are you serious?"
"it all makes sense, these last few weeks you have been more tired, not to mention you got so pissed so quickly you literally killed someone. you only want to eat blueberries, you felt dizzy at the reception last night, you said your wedding dress was too tight and I keep feeling a Volts power when I am around you." after he says all that I am speechless. he walks over and sits on the bed in front of me. "Are you late? tell me the truth"
"Kai there is no-"
he cuts me off "Are. You. Late?"
I try and think of the last time I had a period. "haven't gotten it this month" I say more to myself than him. I usually get it at the start of the month and its almost the end of the month. I never got it.
