after days and days of walking and riding the horse we are finally here. Dor is sandier than I remember. there is so much sand that there are hardly any people out in the streets. the very few people that are out have scarves covering their entire faces. even their eyes. that gives us a good excuse to cover our faces so no one sees who we are.
we dropped the horse at a barn and after paying the owner we decided to find a place to sleep. we both have backpacks on and we are walking through the very sandy streets trying to find an inn. but every sign is covered in sand and dust so it is very hard. I see a few people on the streets running the other way and I am confused before I see a huge sand cloud coming towards us.
"Pae we need to go now" Kai says as he drags me through the streets trying to find a place to get out of the sand. he finds a door that isn't locked and shoves me inside not even attempting to see if there are people inside.
he shuts and locks the door before I hear a little voice say, "its you" I turn around to see a little girl with red hair pointing a knife at me. "who is this?" Is she talking to Kai? how does he know her?
"Abigail please put the knife down. this is Pae my.... friend" he says calmly. she looks at me suspiciously before slowly lowering her knife.
"uh how do you guys know each other?" I ask confused as I look at the child who somehow knows Kai.
"he didn't kill me" she shrugs I am still confused.
"Abigail where are your parents? I can't sense their powers" Kai says while walking into the small house. there is nothing in the house besides dust and one bed with some blankets.
"oh they're at our apartment, I just ran in here because it was the closest place I could go" she says with a smile. the sand storm is still blowing very hard outside. "no one lives here so it was easy to get in."
"no one lives here?" Kai asks while walking around the house. she follows him and I follow her.
"nope as dusty as it is n here I don't think anyone has lived here for years" she says

After the storm ended Abigail went back to her home but Kai and I stayed. It's a nice house. there is a bedroom with a bed and a few old dusty blankets. there is a bathroom and a small kitchen.
Kai is standing in the middle of the bedroom just looking out the small window. i walk up behind him and hug him wrapping my arms around his waist and pressing small kisses to his back. "what are you thinking about?" I whisper
he melts into my arms and puts his hands on top of mine. "I was thinking that no one lives here and we need a home" he whispers back
"it is a nice little house" I say and he nods in agreement. "we cant stay here forever though"
"I know" he says turning around and putting his hands on my waist. "but it could work for now, Plus it's very cozy" he smiles as he brings his face a little closer to mine.
"which part is cozy? the dust, old blankets, the kitchen with the broken tile or the rats?" I laugh wrapping my arms around his neck
"oh just shut up and kiss me Gray" he laughs bringing his mouth to mine. I quickly stop laughing when we start kissing. my hands play with his hair as he backs me up against a wall. Fuck why is it so hot when he does that? he parts my lips with his and his tongue slips into my mouth as he lifts me up. my legs automatically wrap around his waist. he moves his lips to my neck kissing up and down my scar. why does he always do that? whatever I don't even care at this point.
he sucks on a spot on my neck that makes me melt. my head falls back and I run my hands through his hair. he chuckles "did I just find your sweet spot Gray?"
"probably" I let out a quiet sound as he sucks harder on the spot. he is probably going to leave a mark but I really don't care. no one is going to see anyway. he pulls down the shoulder of my shirt and I don't see what he is doing until I feel his lips on the O over my heart. "Kai what are-"
"I love you" he cuts me off. "with powers, without powers, full of scars, no scars at all, I love you. you are the most perfect woman in the world. you may not think It but you're perfect" he whispers
