Adena?

It's just a normal day. I woke up in Kai's arms we ate some food then he started working on fixing up our house while I go out to get some more food and other things. 

or at least I thought it was a normal day. it was normal until this guy started following me. he looks to be about 40 years old. he has been following me for the last hour and I know his intentions. his thin arms and thin face tells me he is not an imperial. he is just a guy following a woman around in circles. yeah okay sure

I have been walking in circles for the last 30 minutes either he is very lost or he is following me to have his way with me.... if you know what I mean. every time I look back at him he turns away pretending to not be following me. he is stupider than I thought. this bitch really thinks I don't know he is following me. 

I turn one more time to see where he is the weakest but he is gone. I look all around me but he is  nowhere to be seen.  "what the fu-" I am cut off when a hand clamps around my mouth. it isn't Kai. I know what Kai's hand feels like and this isn't it. I try to fight back. I am kicking and punching but the person doesn't move. 

I am being dragged behind a building into an alleyway. I am shoved against a wall and I look at the person in front of me. It's the man who was following me but he looks strong and he is no longer 40 years old he looks to be about 20. he must be an illusionist. tricking me to make me see him as weak to make me underestimate him. he quickly pulls down my scarf and puts a cloth over my mouth. 

no no no this is not how it is going to happen. I kick him in the balls and when he doubles over grunting I swing my legs over his shoulders and I am about to put the cloth over his mouth when he grabs my leg and flips me on my back. my head hits the ground and my ears ring. 

the man has a knife to my throat. "hey bitch that's my move" I say before kicking him again and grabbing the knife. he has another knife and he cuts my arm. I ignore the burning pain in my arm and in my stomach as he cuts it and without thinking I slice his throat. 

my ears ring and my hands go numb as I look at what I did. I stand up and the knife drops to the ground. tears come to my eyes and my hands shake as I look at the man I killed. 

I stare at him shocked before I cover my face back up and run. my hands are bloody and so is my arm as I run back to the house. I can feel my heart beating out of my chest as I open the door to our house. there is so much blood pouring out of me. Kai is working on sharpening knives when he looks at me. he immediately jumps up and catches me as I pass out.

I wake up to someone touching my face. I open my eyes to see a familiar beautiful face. brown curls and a sticky bun in hand. "Adena?" tears come to my eyes as I sit up. 

"hello Pae" she gives me the most beautiful smile. I look at her body. her fingers aren't broken her body isn't covered in blood and she looks happy rather than sad. "I see you are keeping your promise" she says looking at the green vest. 

"how? where?-" more tears are coming out.

she ignores my questions "I always knew you would be with that prince" she giggles

"but A you-" 

"died? yeah I know but you cant do that to me. I need you to live. that prince needs you they both do. please forgive yourself. it wasn't your fault." she smiles and wipes tears from my eyes, "I have to go now." 

"A wait-" 

"I love you Pae. you need to wake up" she hugs me. then she is gone. 

"Adena? Adena?" 

I wake up in my bed. Kai is asleep in a chair next to the bed. there is fabric wrapped around my arms and pain in my stomach. I look down to see another piece of fabric and under it is stitched healing up my cut. 

I lay back down feeling a bad headache. I look at Kai he looks so peaceful when he is sleeping. "Kai" I whisper

he slowly wakes up and when he sees me he jumps up. he sits on the edge of the bed and puts his hands on my face kissing me. "oh my pretty Pae" he says between kisses.
