Pae's POV 

I look at the list with Kai not recognizing the names from the slums Kai seems to sulk when he sees the list. "do you know Russell and Alexander?" I ask him not knowing who they are. 

"yeah I do." he says crumpling up the list. "we call them the Mills brothers. they are twins both of them are assholes and sleep with every woman they look at. they share the woman its so weird because then they never talk to her ever again they just leave." I can see him upset about what he just told me before he puts on a mask and  continues talking "Russell is a blazer so he can control fire and Alexander is a Hydro so he can control water. when they are on their own they are terrible fighters but together... lets just say you don't want to run into them when they are together"  

"don't fight them when they are together and don't-" I am about to say something else but he cuts me off. 

"I want you to stay away from them" he says standing up and putting on a shirt tossing me some clothes after he does. 

"why?" I pull on the pants and shirt he tossed me and I start putting on my boots. 

"because they have a reputation of forcing themselves on women" he looks concerned 

"Kai nothing Is going to happen to me" I walk up to him and I wrap my arms around his waist. "I can take care of myself. I promise I will be safe" I gently 

he wraps his own arms around me and looks into my eyes "I know that but I still want you to be careful, ok?" I nod and he kisses my lips softly before we walk out of the room together.

we are meeting everyone in the dining room since it is lunch time.  me and Kai are the last ones to get to the dining room and all the eyes go to us. the only seats that are open are ones next to Kitt and one next to Blair. if I sit next to Blair I will kill her so Kai takes that seat and I take the one next to Kitt. 

"hey Kai nice to see you again. is this your girl?" the guy next to Kai says this is either Alexander or Russell because the guy next to him looks the same. "i'm Russell and this is my brother Alexander nice to meet you" they both offer out their hands for me to shake but I give them one look before going back to eating. 

"wow Kai you got yourself a fireball" Alexander says and Kai clenches his fork so tight it might bend. 

the guy next to me is giving Blair the death stare I don't know why but he looks like he hates her more than me. the girl next to him must be the other person from the slums because she is looking at all the food like it is more than she has ever seen in her life. I wonder if that is what I looked like when I came here the first time. 

Kai is giving the guy next to me who must be Makoto a weird look. "So Makoto what's your power?" Kai asks cutting everyone off guard. Makoto is clenching his fork so tight it might break. 

"Call me Mak and I'm uh ordinary" he says and Kai nods but I can tell he doesn't believe him.

after lunch everyone went to the rooms and of course mine and Kai's are far apart because Kitt wants to be an ass. I don't really care either way because I already know he is going to be sleeping in my room every night. 

later that night I am about to get in bed to go to sleep when there is a knock at my door. I am confused why Kai is knocking until I open the door and see Mak not the man I love. "um hi?"

"we need to talk" he doesn't wait for me to answer before he comes in. I am shocked that he just came into my room. "really what was that back there you were just ignoring me? i don't even get a hello?" 

"what the hell are you talking about and why the hell are you in my room?"  

he looks at me confused "she never told you about me?" 

"who never told me what?" 

"Dena- Adena. we were in love" he talks and I can't breathe or think or move.
