Goodbye mother

Kai's POV

when I woke up this morning Pae was still asleep. she looks so beautiful when she sleeps. her gorgeous silver hair is all messy and she is curled up under the blankets. I want to go see my mother but I don't want to leave her. I want to spend the rest of my life waking up with her in my arms. I love her so much

after a few minutes I decide to go see her so I kiss Pae's cheek and I get out of bed. throwing on a shirt and a pair of shoes I walk out of the bedroom. 

I get a lot of different looks from people as I walk to the room where my mother is. some people look happy that I am back while others look pissed and I can't blame them. I left and missed my own fathers funeral because I was looking for the woman who killed him and ended up falling in love with her again. 

I make it to the area where my mother is staying since she is so sick. I take a deep breath before opening the door. my mother is laying in bed and as soon as she sees me she smiles. I wasn't sure if she would even want to see me. I walk over to her and I take her hand in mine. 

"how are you my baby boy?" she says and I can tell she is sick. I can feel tears coming but I push them down. 

"I am doing good."  I say quietly "I think I might be in love" I tell her. I don't want to tell her it's Paedyn because she might get upset since Pae killed my father.  

"Paedyn Gray" she says quietly still smiling. 

I am confused how does she know. "yes, how did you know?" 

"oh my sweet boy everyone has known you would be with her since the first ball of the trials. I saw the way you looked at her in that dress. mothers always know. I know she is the one who killed your father" 

"mother I-" 

she cuts me off. "I only want you to be happy my dear boy. I know she is ordinary but I want you to find love. I love you and I want you to be happy and loved for the rest of your life. you deserve that" well great here come the tears "she loves you I know she does. I saw it in her eyes. please find a way to be happy after I am gone. love and be loved" she smiles gently wiping the tears from my eyes. "I love you" 

"I love you too" I say quietly 

"Kai I don't have much time but I want to know my boys are taken care of. I know Kitt and Jax aren't my biological sons but I still want to know they are okay" I nod to her words tears still in my eyes. "please help Kitt find love and make sure Jax does all his school work and he also finds love. I want you to get married and have children. can you do that for me?" 

"yes, mother" I say through tears "I promise"

"thank you my boy" she coughs "now go to her. I don't want you to see me like this" 

I stand up and hug her. "goodbye mother" I whisper to her

"goodbye my baby boy" she whispers back "treat her well" 

"I will." after hugging for a few minutes she tells me to go because she doesn't like to see me cry and she doesn't want me to see her when she is sick and weak. I kiss her head before leaving crying on my way out but once I get to the door I slip on one of my many masks.

Pae's POV 

i am sitting on the bed brushing my hair when Kai comes in. "have you been crying?" i ask

he doesn't answer me. he just picks me up, pins me against the wall and kisses me. my legs wrap around his hips and i put my hands on his neck. "hmm Kai what is this about?" i mumble between kisses. 

"marry me" he says pulling away from the kiss. i am so shocked i don't even know what to say.  where is this coming from? is her serious or joking? does he really want to marry me? what the fuck is he thinking? he drops me to my feet. "hello? Pae? are you still alive?" he snaps his fingers in front of my eyes and i snap out of whatever trance i was in. 

"are you shitting me Azer or are you being serious?" i ask quietly looking up at him. 

"I'm being serious" he answers moving his thumb across my cheek. "i don't have a ring yet but i am being serious" 

"yes" i answer smiling as i look up at him "yes yes yes a thousand times yes" he smiles and picks me up swinging me around as he kisses me. 

"were going to be married" he whispers

"we are going to be married" i whisper back.
