Chapter 18

Shadow's POV

I smelt something... amazing....

I turned my head to see all sort of strange foods being brought in. 

They looked like delicacies from earth, but many I could not trace origin. 

REMAIN STRONG SHADOW!!!!

Memphis: "Brother, would you like some?"

Me: "I don't need to eat."

I saw Eclipse and him walk in with the kitchen staff but I don't think the others noticed.

Sonic: "Where did you two..... what is THAT?"

He pointed to a large bowl with what looked like fruit.

Eclipse: "Gomi berries?"

Memphis: "They are quite delicious!"

I saw the two of them nod at each other.... oh boy.

Third Person POV

Shadow stiffened as Black Doom gently put a hand on his shoulder.

BD: "Doesn't mean you don't need to eat, doesn't mean you have to starve....."

Shadow: "I think you missed the point... I can't  starve."

Sonic look to the silver colored hedgehog to interpret as the two bickered.

Silver: "Ummmm... something about eating... I think."

Amy: "You understood that?"

Sonic: "Shadow's apparently teaching him."

Tail: "Excuse me, Mr. Black Doom?"

Everything froze.

BD: "Yes, small fox?"

Tails: "I think it would be easier if we all introduced ourselves, also Shadow never really eats. I think he'll be fine."

They stiffened as the tall (now) hedgehog let out a deep sigh.

He looked.... almost sad.

BD: "Feel free to help yourselves to the food. So, what are your names?"

Sonic's POV

Me: "Hold it Blackie, can I call you "Blackie'?"

BD: "No."

He gave me an evil eye.

Me: "Okaaayyy. Well anyways, Memphis here told us your names have meanings.... so in exchange for our names, we wanna know what they mean to you guys!"

BD: "I guess we could do that..."

Me: "I'm Sonic"

BD: "yours would be 'One of the Wind'."

Me: "Nice!"

Tails: "Oh! My Name is 'Tails' or well really it's Miles Prower but-"

Memphis: "Wait, hold up. 'Miles Prower'?"

Me: "Yes?"

Memphis: "Miles Per Hour?????"

I froze. Tails looked annoyed and disgusted.

Tails: "MY NAME IS A PUN?!"

I broke down laughing. And I got that weird look from everybody again.

BD: "Well 'Tails' Your nickname literally means 'Tails', but 'Miles'  well that has two translations."

Tails: "Really? Those aren't puns are they, I have heard so many from Sonic over here I might lose it."

BD: "It could mean 'swift one' or 'loyal friend'."

Me: "Just like my lil bud!"

I put an arm over Tails and he laughed happily.

Knuckles: "Knuckles"

BD: "What is with the weird appendage names.... 'Knuckles' means the same thing."

Knuckles: "Oh."

Rouge: "Well I happen to be your son's best friend, I am Rouge."

BD: "Cunning... Conniving... yeah that checks out."

Shadow: "Hey!" 

BD: "What?! That's what it means!"

Me: "Rouge you good?"

Rouge: "Yeah, I think Shadow is a bit concerned more than I am though..."

Cream: "I'm Cream!"

BD: "Okay what is with the weird names?! Shadow!!"

Shadow: "Don't ask me I didn't name them!"

BD: "Milk. Sweetheart your name means 'milk'."

Cream: "I don't know what to say to that."

Tails: "Well at least you name has a different meaning."

Aw. She's leaning on him.

Amy: "I'm Amy Rose!"

She held out a hand which the tall guy politely took. He looked at Shadow with a smirk. Wow. I can really see the resemblance....

BD: "hmm interesting name."

Shadow: "Don't. You. DARE."

BD: "Amy Rose was it? Can I ask what my son calls you?"

Amy: "Rose. I don't know why... I mean my full name is Amelia..."

Black Doom let out a small laugh and glanced at Shadow, whose face was slightly flushed.... weird. Also I know he DID NOT get his laugh from his father.

BD: "Rose means 'Beautiful one' or 'Lover'. Amelia mean 'Joyous day' and Amy simply is 'Joy'."

Ames' face burned brightly. 

Amy: "O-oh. Um.... I uh... well... huh.. that's.... neat."

She glanced at Shadow who was hiding his face in his hands.

Shadow: "If you brought me along for an execution, please just do it now."

Random Guard: "Location!!! LOCATION!!!"

Me: "Wha-"

BD: "We're here."
