The Truth of the Matter

Chapter 32

Third Person POV

Shadow glared at his twin, not allowing himself to falter within their heavy weighted stand off. Memphis returned the nasty look, his eyes glowing as if losing himself to insanity.

Shadow took a deep breath.

Shadow: "Put him down."

Memphis: "What was his-"

Shadow: "Put. Sonic. Down."

Mephiles obliged and gently put Sonic on the ground, his unconscious form seemed slightly bothered but other than that is was unharmed.

Mephiles: "Alright, he's out of the way... now will yo-"

He never even was given a chance to finish as Shadow's fist connected with his jaw sending him back.

Tails was going as fast as possible.

Knuckles: "Woah! Buddy slow down, your gonna bump into some-"

Tails: "Shadow... Memphis... help... evil....*pant* attack."

Knuckles: "Now, Tails, we've been through this before... speak."

Rouge flew in.

Rouge: "SHADOW NEEDS HELP!!! MEMPHIS IS EVIL AN IS TRYING TO KILL US!"

Tails: "OH COME ON!!!!"

Knuckles: "TAILS! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!?"

Tails: "Forget it. Just forget it. COME ON GUYS!:

The silver hedgehog worked as fast as she could, still healing from the recent months. The pod prepared carefully.

Olivia: "If they win... they'll keep you safe."

She wrote a note and carefully guided it to the ship in the valley. Their only means of escape.

Shadow spat blood onto the ground as his brothers fist slammed into his stomach. His own hands now gripping the deep green striped hedgehogs shoulder. Slamming his knee into Memphis' gut in return.

Shadow: "CHAOS SPEAR!"

Mephiles went flying down the hall as he began to glow, his mouth fading and crystal appearing on his back.

Shadow: "Oh shit."

Silver: "IT'S NO USE!!!!"

A massive stone landed on Mephiles in a second.

Shadow turned to the light colored hedgehog.

Silver met his gaze.

Silver: "What?"

Shadow: "Remind me to not piss you off."

The others ran in ready to fight, but Shadow had other plans.

Shadow: "NO! You all stay back! We'll handle this, get the ship ready!"

Amy: "LIKE HELL I AM LEAVING YOU!!"

Shadow: "Amy please-"

Amy: "No I won't! You are going to get hurt or-"

Knuckles picked her up.

Knuckles: "Sorry Amy. Shadow! BEAT HIS ASS!!!"

Shadow gave a salute before rushing over to the now glowing stone as it began to crack.

Amy: "NO!! LET ME FIGHT!!! KNUCKLES PUT ME DOWN!!!"

Her screams of protest rang loud as the others made their way to the ship. 

Shadow nodded his head, relieved that they would be safe.

The stone seemed to shatter like glass as Mephiles began to finally break through. Now summoning his dark creatures to attack the duo as well.

Mephiles: "You are a fool, brother. And I am afraid that, you must now pay-"

He never finished because a blue blur hit him in the face.

Sonic: "Hey would you look at that! I won!"

He smirked and turned to the other two hedgehogs.

Silver: "That was a cheap shot and you know it!"

Shadow walked over to his blue rival, making him shudder as he tried to step back. Only to be met with an embrace.

Shadow pulled away quickly before Sonic could register what just happened.

Shadow: "About time you woke up, dumbass."

Silver: "Where's my hug?"

Shadow: "You hug me all the damn time!"

Silver: "Yeah... but you never hug me back."

Sonic: "Okay, boys calm down. I am sure we can all do a group hug after this.... if your willing to that is..."

Shadow shrugged.

Mephiles: "That was a cheap shot you ass."

The three of them returned to their main objective....stop.... whatever that thing was.

Shadow: "Blue, take out the black things with Silver! I'm going for my brother."

Sonic and Silver nodded as they began to take down the dark minions, Sonic spin-dashing and Silver using his telekinetic abilities.

Shadow teleported behind Mephiles and gave him an upper cut to send him into the air.

The two clashed as they used their abilities to keep them steady. Shadow flying with his wings, Mephiles using his dark powers making a mist to stand on.

Below them Sonic was bouncing off walls.

Sonic: "Hey, Silv!"

Silver: "Yeah?"

Sonic: "Throw me!"

Silver: "I thought you'd never ask."

Sonic was now being a living bowling ball as Silver sent him into their opponents, blasting them to pieces.

Knuckles: "Come on let's go!"

They all rushed as quickly as possible.  Only to be cut off by a melty Black Doom.

Melt Doom: "YoUuuu CanNNoTtt  LEaveeee"

Blaze tried to burn the creature, but unfortunately it would not burn.

Blaze: "DAMMIT BURN YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"

Everyone stared at her, startled.

Blaze: "What? I can't be collected all of the time."

Amy: "Knuckles, Throw me!"

He laughed as he chucked her over towards the melted creature.

She spun dashed into it, bouncing off it, then slamming her hammer down on it's head.

It was a small inky puddle now.

Cream: "Ew."

Tails: "Agreed. So much for a happy family."

Amy: "We need to help the- OH COME ON KNUCKLES!!!"

She was once again thrown onto the Echidna's shoulder.

Rouge: "Sorry sweetheart, but Shadow said to go to the ship. Trust me. Those boys can handle themselves."

Amy: "I hope your right. Because I wouldn't be able to like with myself if anything happened to them."
