Chapter 15

Third Person POV

Silence hung as the ship began to lift off. Shadow pulled Amy closer, fear and pain running through him. Rouge was holding her boyfriend's hand- er massive fist. Sonic sat opposite of Shadow, to keep a close eye on him. Tails and Cream were next to Blaze and Silver. They were all a little nervous of the journey ahead.... doubts clouding their minds.

Sonic: "You guys all good?"

The blue hedgehog looked around at his companions.

Amy: "I think so."

She was still sitting on Shadow's lap, not wanting him to feel as if he was alone.

Silver: "Yeah we're fine."

Tails: "Mostly, I mean we are on the ship of Black Doom himself. Who knows what cruel experiments and freaks are on-"

Sonic: "Tails."

The fox went quiet, remembering Shadow.

Tails: "Not that there is anything wrong with that! I mean Shadow is amazing! He's cool and uh- uh..."

Sonic face palmed as Tails failed to save face.

Shadow: "Don't worry about it."

It was quiet but they could all hear him.

Then the massive wall behind them opened.

Shadow's POV

WHO THE HELL?!?

Oh. Memphis.

Memphis: "Hello again!"

What does he want?

Memphis: "Shadow? Are you all right?"

I realized I probably looked like a wreck, and Rose was still on my lap.

Me: "I'm fine."

Memphis walked towards me... I could feel my quills raise, I felt threatened by him presence but also.... familiar? I don't know.... nor do I care actually.

That is until he tried to touch.

Me: "DON'T TOUCH ME!"

I snapped as I slapped his hand away.

Amy: "Shadow!"

I turned to my Rose who had crossed her arms. 

Amy: "You didn't need to snap like that."

Sonic: "Cut him some slack Ames, last time he was taken on a shipped GUN used him as a guinea pig! The guys probably trying not to panic!"

I stiffened as I felt eyes of pity burning into me.

Memphis: "And people ask why we hate humans...."

He sighed as he clicked a button, most likely to contact somebody.

I felt Rose leave me.... I didn't want her too, but I didn't stop her. It's not my place to force anything on her.

I felt my ear twitch as I heard running.

Eclipse: "Brother!"

I fell backwards as he tackled me in a hug.

Me: "GET OFF!"

I nearly had to rip him off me.

BD: "Hello, son."

I turned my head towards the tyrant himself.

Me: "I am NOT your son."

BD: "Yes you are. I literally have the- oh forget it."

He facepalmed in frustration and I simply was confused.

BD: "Come on."

He tried to help me up but I slapped his hand away. The last I needed was pity from him.

BD: "Shadow. Please. I just want to talk."

Me: "There is nothing to talk about. You left me to die on the Ark, and then you lied to me and used me!"

BD: "I never left you to die."

I scoffed.

Sonic: "Ummm..... what are you two saying???"

Me + BD: "NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS BLUE!"

I shot him a look but Doom just looked at me.

And then it happened. I saw him slowly morph... his arms and body shrunk until he looked like... like a hedgehog.

BD: "See? Not that bad huh?"

I have never punch somebody in the face faster.

Memphis + Eclipse: "FATHER!"

I rolled my eyes. Drama queens.

Eclipse: "YOU JUST HIT FATHER!"

Memphis: "Nice right hook though I have to say..."

Eclipse: "MEMPHIS!"

Memphis just shrugged.

Memphis: "Like you've never thought of hitting him."

Silence hung between the two of them.

BD: "Boys... move.

His voice was laced in venom as he stood. Although now in a mobian form her still towered over me. He grabbed my arm before I could protest and began to pull into the long hall.

Me: "Hey! Let go!"

BD: "Not until you listen!"

Sonic's POV

We all kinda just sat there and watched the family drama... 

It was kinda weird.

Amy: "Should we follow them?"

I could tell she was concerned. Ames....

Tails: "Yeah probably..."

Memphis: "No."

Me: "No? What do you mean no? Our friend just-"

Memphis: "It means no. Father needs to speak to Shadow. It has nothing to do with you."

He spat... way less hospitable than before.... I see the family resemblance.

Me: "But Shadow is going to lose it. You really think leaving him alone with Black Doom, the man he thought he killed, is a good idea?!?"

Memphis only smirked... man those two could be twins.

Silver: "Is Memphis short for something by the way? Just curious."

Memphis: "Yes actually...."

He smiled and I felt a chill rush over me. 

Memphis: "My birth name is Mephiles."
