Chapter 16

Shadow's POV

Me: "LET ME GO!!"

This was bringing back WAYYY to many memories for me.

BD: "No."

Seriously?

I kept trying to pull my arm free from his grasp, but it was no- nah I ain't using Silver's line. I'm to cool for that.

I studied his new form.... a black hedgehog a bit taller that than me. Instead of red stripes only the tips of his quills were red. He had a long tail, and chest fur.... Shit I really DO look like him.

BD: "Why are you so stubborn."

I felt him stop and try and lift me up. Hell. No.

I scrambled fast keeping myself away from him.

BD: "Stop being a child!"

Me: "Stop trying to carry me!"

I was hissing by this point.... guess that's what made him take a hint.

Sniff

or not.

BD: "You.... you smell like the ARK...."

Me: "Well thank you captain obvious."

I was following him now... avoiding physical contact.

He glanced at me to stop, I did. No point in fighting him here.

I looked up to see a massive hall of doors.

BD: "I am not having my child sleep in that musty room."

I felt a hand on my should quickly followed with a chill down my spine.

BD: "Take your pick... if a room is taken there will be a name on it."

I slowly, cautiously, made my way down the hall and looked at the rooms.

I ended up choosing the largest I could... bad idea.

BD: "So you did go back up..."

Me: "Does it matter? It was to save lives..... something far more important than myself."

BD: "You matter more than you could even imagine, son."

Me: "Don't call me that."

I looked him dead in the eyes. It was weird seeing a mouth on him.

Me: "You have no idea the amount of pain I have gone through, and I doubt you even ca-"

I was cut off as he pulled me into a tight embrace. It felt weird but.... actually kinda nice. His tail was wrapped around me as well. I noticed it had  a red rip while the rest was black.

I hugged him back. I don't know why... but I also cried in that moment.

BD: "Shadow?"

I slowly began to shake and fall onto my knees, holding my head to block out the ringing and the screams...

Not Again.

Silver's POV

Me: "Mephiles, huh?"

Memphis: "Yes, my mother named me. I always preferred to go by Memphis though... It just sounds less..."

Me: "Evil, manipulative, deceitful-"

Memphis: "I was gonna say weird. Mephiles in our tongue means 'dark one'. Just like Shadow's name means 'one of light'."

Sonic: "Really?"

Mephiles nodded.

Sonic: "Okay what about Eclipse?"

A smile spread on his disgusting face... it's weird seeing him with a mouth.

Memphis: "It means 'little one of peace' however the other translation is 'smallest one'."

Eclipse: "I prefer the first thank you very much."

He stuck his tongue out at his brother, earning a hearty laugh from the elder.

Memphis: "You should hear the things Shadow used to call him...."

His ears drooped instantly as if a sad memory took over.

Dang. He is really making it hard to hate him.

Memphis: "I am sorry if this sounds weird but... do you know me?"

I gulped.

Me: "Not exactly."

I told him everything. WHY DID I TELL HIM EVERYTHING!?!?

Memphis: "I see.... so I lose control at some point...."

I looked at him coldly.

And then he bowed to me

Memphis: "Forgive me for any problems I may have caused you!"

Eclipse: "Brother, you don't need to do that."

As the two of them bickered I noticed his tail was more like a cats than a hedgehogs.

Me: "What's with your tail?"

I covered my mouth.

Me: "I mean- why is it like that- I MEAN-"

Memphis: "I'm half alien."

Checks ou- wait.

Me: "Your mother is a-"

Memphis: "Mobian."

Sonic: "Oh that's cool! So do you have any cool powers?"

Amy: "What's her name?"

Knuckles: "Is she here?"

Tails: "Was she a slave?"

Cream: "Is she mister Shadow's mom too?"

Me: "Cream Shadow doesn't have a-"

Memphis: "Yes, Aurora, No, No, Yes."

Silence.

Everybody (Except Eclipse and Memphis):... "SHADOW HAS A MOM?!"
