Chapter 21

Black Doom's POV (bet yall didn't see that coming)

I watched him and Miss Rose talk amongst each other.... I am... happy he found somebody.

I remember him often climbing these curtains and arguing with his brothers... the way he'd look up to me... I miss that.

Me: "I thought she was 'just a friend'?"

I smiled fondly at his flustered face.... ah. Young love.

Shadow: "W-well now she's more than a friend...."

I chuckled at his embarrassment. He truly has grown well.

Me: I am sorry I wasn't able to save you back then Shadow.... but I won't let them hurt you again.

Shadow: Seriously?! WHAT IS IT WITH YOU AND ECLIPSE AND RANDOM MIND LINKS!?

Me: Hehe.... you really have grown..... 

Shadow: Also.... what are you talking about?

Me: Do you not find this place... familiar to you?

He stiffened. I hit a nerve.

Me: I wish to talk to you about so much.... but that will have to wait until you are all settled....

I severed the link before he could respond.... it's best to ease the truth onto him.... the truth Gerald took from him.

Amy's POV

I felt his grip tighten as we continued walking, I glanced at him but his mind seemed preoccupied.

Me: "Shady?"

He glanced at me and gave a weak smile

Shadow: "Rose?"

I gave him another squeeze to which he pulled my closer, putting an arm around my waist.

I felt my face burn but I knew he was just seeking comfort.

Shadow: "He connected our minds and now I am more confused than ever."

His expression was a deadpanned one 

Me: "Maybe you just need a distraction..."

He looked me up and down then smiled.

Shadow: "I already have the best one."

SINCE WHEN IS HE SO GOOD AT THIS?!? That night all he wanted to do was snuggles and kiss.... NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN HE'S AND EXPERT FLIRT?!?"

He chuckled and kissed my head again..... I love it when he laughs. It's so cute.

We made out way into a massive hallway, but I felt Shadow freeze, he was staring at a painting.

A painting of Black Doom with a beautiful white hedgehog with green eyes. There were kids in the painting. Memphis, Eclipse... and in Doom's arms was a little Shadow.

Shadow: "What? How? I-I...."

He trailed off, not able to comprehend this.

Me: "Maybe they have another kid that looks like you?"

Shadow: "I don't think that's it..."

I didn't either but he looks freaked and I am trying to help....

Me: "Maybe just ask-"

Memphis: "Told you we should have taken that down."

Eclipse: "I can't reach!!!"

BD: "Looks like we are going to have that talker sooner than I had originally anticipated."
