We open to Gompers baaing at the rooftop of the Mystery Shack; cuts to Joe, Dipper and Mabel in the Shack. Mabel is sitting on a spinning globe. Joe sighs tapping on the counter bored to death.
Dipper: Guys, do you believe in ghosts?
Joe: Eh.
Mabel: I believe you're a big dork! Ha ha ha!
Dipper puts pencil against globe, making Mabel fall off with the impact of the thud a small secret compartment opened up behind the counter next to Joe. He looks down at the small compartment and sees a device with a small black screen, mounted on a handle, which has a pair of sensor 'wings' protruding from either side folded in.

Mabel: What is it?
Joe: No clue.
He presses a button and nothing happens.
Dipper: Must be broken.
Joe: Wait, I've seen this in the Hunter's book.
He takes the small book from his backpack and flips a few pages seeing the device drawn and instructions on how to fix it. Joe turns it over and takes a panel off the back seeing the wires were all screwed up.
Joe: Woah, the wiring all over the place.
Mabel: Can you fix it?
Joe: The book shows me how, but it'll take me two days or one if I lose sleep.
Stan Enters from outside.
Stan: Soos! Wendy!
Soos Runs up, panting.
Soos; What's up, Mr. Pines!
Stan: I'm headin' out. You two are gonna wash the bathrooms, right?
Soos: Yes, sir!
Wendy: Absolutely not!
Stan: Ha ha! You stay out of trouble!
He Leaves.
Wendy: Hey guys! What's this?
She Unveils curtain.
Wendy: A secret ladder to the roof?
Soos: Uh, I don't think Mr. Pines would like that.
Wendy: Huh?
Soos: Uhhhhh.
Wendy: Huh?
Soos: You're freaking me out, dude!
Dipper: Can we actually go up there?
Wendy. Sure we can! Roof time! Roof time!
Kids: Roof time! Roof time!
Soos Looks out window.
Soos: Uhhhh.
Everyone Walk over roof to Wendy's spot while Joe was still trying to rewire the strange device getting it almost there.
