~Chapter 7~
"But-" he sighed as he reached for his phone, seeing the call end lighten on the screen. He pulled his AirPods from his ears and placed them back in the case. His heart immediately started to pound again, this time out of fear and embarrassment.
He slowly climbed out of bed, pausing to let his still-weakened legs adjust to his weight as he reached for his boxers and put them back on. He walked over to his closet and looked for something he could wear after he got out. It was a joke before..but his pants were really too short for him. He laughed as he grabbed an outfit and a towel and walked to the door.
Hesitating slightly as he reached for the handle; he, of course, was expecting a full living room just waiting to tease him. He let out a small breath to brace himself before he twisted the knob. "Huh," he furrowed his eyebrows, letting out a small laugh as he looked down the darkened hallway. He shook his head as he walked to the bathroom, literally worried for nothing. Not seeing anyone, he assumed nobody was home.
He set his clothes on the counter, reached over, and started the water, letting it warm before giving his attention back to the mirror. He smiled to himself as he softly teased his messy hair. He still couldn't believe he did that; it wasn't something he'd ever done before.
But that was just like Chan, getting him to do things he couldn't imagine ever doing alone. He always managed to get him to step out of his restrictive bubble.
And he was glad he did because he had fun, genuinely. He only hoped Chan had just as much fun as him. That's all he wanted..was to be good for him. Seeing the steam rise over the shower brought him out of his deep thoughts.
He removed his clothes and hopped in, quickly washing up to hurry and call Chan back. It was no surprise that he missed him so much already. After he finished, he quickly redressed, not forgetting another one of Chan's hoodies. It made him feel closer when he wore it. Yes, he was stupidly in love with the older.
He reverted to his room and put his soiled clothes and Chan's comforter in a pile by the door—he'd wash them in the morning. Right now, he just wanted Chan..to hear his voice again. He needed him desperately.
He climbed back in bed, grabbed his phone from the desk, and, like he said, called him back. He eagerly listened to the ring, waiting for him to answer. "Hyung," he called when he heard the phone click.
"Baby, give me one second, okay," he lowly whispered to the phone.
"Yeah...okay," Seungmin softly replied, patiently waiting for him, not stopping himself from slightly eavesdropping on his conversation. He couldn't help himself—he was nosy. It sounded like he was talking with their manager.
"Mhm okay...Seungmin," he called as he picked up the phone from beside him.
"Huh..yeah,"
"You're so cute. Are you listening to my conversion?" he laughed at him. He could almost see his flustered expression through his voice.
"Wh-What, no..I-I wasn't," he started to overly defending.
"It was just our manager telling me about the plan for tomorrow," he continued, laughing even more at his reaction.
"I wasn't listening," Seungmin continued to argue.
"Uh-huh," he smiled. Can you go into my closet for me? Look all the way at the bottom on the left side," he asked.
"Kay," Seungmin said quickly, jumping up and doing what he asked. 'The blanket,' he thought to himself as he opened the door and bent down to grab it. "Hyung, the blanket," he softly asked as he picked up the phone and sat back down on the bed, holding it in his lap.
