~Chapter 6~
Sometime later, they were nearing the end of the movie. Seungmin quickly understood Chan's comment about crying. Barely twenty minutes in, he heard his soft sniffles from beside him when Littlefoot's mother died.
He had to shake his head to suppress his own tears even more when Chan reached over, overlapping his hand on top of his and gently rubbing his fingers against his knuckles for comfort. That was the first time Chan made his heart race.
The second time, they were a little after halfway finished with the movie. It was the scene where all the baby dinosaurs were lying down to rest. "You dont mind, right??" Chan whispered softly in his ear before laying his head on his shoulder.
"N-No," Seungmin choked out with a deep breath when he felt Chan instantly scoot closer to him, similar to the way the other dinosaurs cuddled against Littlefoot.
He couldn't sense Chan's intention, but he quickly realized its effect on him. He silently prayed to himself that Chan couldn't feel the light trembles coursing through his body or the incessant pounding in his chest.
By the time the movie ended, Seungmin had already finished two of the beers that Chan had brought out earlier and was quickly moving through his third. He wasn't the best drinker, but the fact that Chan hadn't moved from beside him encouraged him immensely to indulge.
"Greatest movie of all time," Chan said with certainty, brushing away a tear that slipped past his eyes at the end. He slowly lifted his head from Seungmin's shoulder and reached to grab the remote on the table to pause the film. He sipped his beer before glancing back at Seungmin, cradling his can close to his chest—unmoved.
"What's wrong??" he asked gently, leaning back and throwing his arm over the couch as he looked at Seungmin.
"I-I'm...just—" Seungmin said slowly, trying to find his words.
"Drunk," Chan chuckled softly.
"No, I-I not."
"Okay," Chan said with a smile as he let it go, even though he clearly was. Seungmin's cheeks were bright red and flushed, and his eyes lazily gazed back at him. He was so fucking cute, staring back at him.
"Can I ask...ask you a question??" Seungmin whispered shyly, bringing the can to his lips, and took another sip.
"Sure, if I can ask you one back," Chan replied with a slight smirk. "A question for a question." Seungmin nodded, a little worried about what he might ask him, but his curiosity overruled his apprehension.
"Dr. Kim. What's your...your relationship with him??"
"Our relationship??" Chan echoed in surprise.
"Mhm, I know it's more. You're not just his intern," Seungmin replied confidently, as he was almost sure he had picked up on something between them.
Chan let out a small sigh before responding. Why exactly did he agree to this?? "Dr. Kim is my father," he answered hesitantly. It was always difficult to bring up this part of his life with anyone, including his incredibly cute neighbor, who also happens to be the son of his father's patient. However, he held so much trust for Seungmin that he didn't mind sharing it with him.
"W-Wait...your father!!" Seungmin exclaimed out of shock.
"Mhm," Chan nodded with a smile, offering him no further explanation to settle his curiosity.
"But Bang... he's Kim. How??" Seungmin questioned, struggling to wrap his intoxicated mind around the thought.
"I believe it's my turn," Chan lightly snickered.
