~Chapter 2~

A little later, Seungmin ultimately found himself in the same spot back at the bar. Felix had been busy dancing with the bartender from earlier, so it was easy for him to slip away unnoticed.

He quickly grabbed the attention of the new bartender and boldly ordered three vodka shots. Dancing with Felix was a nice distraction until it wasn't...until he started thinking of Chan again, which went against his best efforts.

Maybe Felix was a little right. Seeing Chan again stirred up all the feelings Seungmin worked so hard to suppress. And maybe he wasn't all the way over Chan. It still didn't change the fact that Chan did not share those feelings for him. Unless Felix was more right than Seungmin was comfortable admitting, too.

Seungmin winced softly when the bartender returned, placing a small tray in front of him. He thanked her gently before looking down at the row of filled shot glasses. He shook his head, not allowing himself to stall, as he picked up a glass and quickly threw it back.

He figured he'd get drunk enough and forget this night even happened. He wouldn't see Chan again after tonight, and he could easily go back to how it was before...like their unplanned meeting never happened.

He bit his lip as he picked up the second shot and quickly repeated the process. He hesitated before reaching for the third shot, trying to rid himself of the painful aftertaste of the last two. The slices of lemon wedges they provided only helped so much.

"Hey, are you okay?" Felix yelled as he approached Seungmin at the bar, giggling as the bartender from earlier lingered behind him, attached to his waist.

"Yeah," Seungmin smiled up at him.

"We're gonna leave. Are you fine to get home? Or we can take you if you're ready," Felix offered gently, cupping Seungmin's cheeks.

"No, I'm fine. Go have fun," Seungmin laughed, glancing up at the taller figure behind him before he looked back at Felix.

"Okay," Felix smiled, leaning in and gently hugging Seungmin. "You too," he whispered, quickly slipping something into Seungmin's back pocket. Felix giggled, planting a soft kiss on the side of Seungmin's head before he pulled away. "Bye, I love you!" he yelled on his way out, dragging the bartender along with him.

Seungmin chuckled lightly as he turned his attention back to his last shot. He squinted as he reached into his back pocket to see what Felix had put in there. He paused for a second before fully pulling it out, instantly feeling the sting of blush quickly taking over his cheeks when he recognized the familiar square outline.

"Oh my god," he whined, embarrassed as he pulled his hand back. Why would Felix give him that? Why would he need that? How much fun was Felix talking about? And with whom?? Definitely not Chan. He sighed, patting his burning cheeks, and picked up his third glass, eagerly taking the shot.

He was already feeling just a little bit tipsy, but he wasn't passed out, so he ordered another round. Three more, and he was leaving. He waited, watching as the bartender walked away, leaving him alone with his thoughts, which was never a good idea, especially now since he'd been drinking.

What if Felix was right? What if Chan did like him?? Just a few months ago, he wanted that more than anything in the world—he longed for Chan to see him as more than just an academic crutch and replicate his feelings. He hated himself for letting an entire semester go without telling him...but fear of rejection can be a real bitch sometimes.

Maybe seeing Chan tonight was like a second chance. One where he could finally tell Chan how he felt and get it off his chest. It didn't matter what Chan's reaction might be because he was never going to see him again anyway—if only he had the courage to do so.

The bartender finally returned with three refilled shots, and Seungmin immediately raised a glass to his lips. He was almost numb to the taste, as it went down smoothly without triggering any painful reactions.

He brought the lemon wedge to his mouth, sucking the juice, and glanced over his shoulder where he last saw Chan. He searched for the courage or possibly a sign to do or not do what he was thinking.

He shook his head once he felt the reminiscence of the last shot fade; he dropped the lemon and replaced it with the second glass. He didn't need to wait for a sign; he needed to just leave and avoid the situation altogether before he did something he would definitely regret.

Three more shots, and he held himself to it. In his other hand, he picked up an untouched lemon, took a deep breath, and swallowed the liquid. He squeezed the lemon into his mouth to mask the taste before he repeated with the third shot.

"Shit," he groaned, stumbling as he stood too quickly from the stool he was sitting in. He paused for a second, trying to steady himself and get his head to stop spinning and vision to focus. "Okay," he deeply exhaled, gently pushing through the crowds of people as he looked for the exit.

"I've never missed an assignment before," he suddenly whispered to himself, halting just before he reached the doors. He laughed to himself as he looked over his right shoulder before his eyes darted back in front of him. He irritably whined to himself, knowing he wouldn't leave despite telling himself he wanted nothing more than to.

One more step and he would've been outside, but his body seemed to have other plans. It felt like his feet were moving against his will as he moved back through the crowd to look for Chan.

"L-Let's dance," he stammered, reaching for Chan's wrist when he found him and pulled him up from the booth he was sitting at.

"Woah, okay," Chan laughed, going with him without any resistance. They stopped in the middle of the floor. Seungmin was frozen in front of him, his stomach twisting in knots and his heart pounding so fast that he couldn't focus on a single thought.

"How much have you had to drink??" Chan asked him gently, reaching his hand out to touch Seungmin's face. His cheeks were flushed red, and he clearly was spacing.

"Shh, just dance," Seungmin repeated, shaking his head to focus before he started to dance, not caring how badly he looked. Chan chuckled lightly as he joined him, letting his hands slide down and rest on Seungmin's waist.

Seungmin clearly wasn't thinking straight as he willingly let Chan draw him closer, pressing their chest together with Chan's hands placed firmly on the small of his back.

"Hey, you wanna do something fun??" Seungmin leaned up to whisper in Chan's ear.

"Sure—" Chan started to reply before Seungmin grabbed his wrist again and pulled him towards the bathroom. "Um...Chang—fuck," Chan panicked, failing to grab Changbin's attention with how quickly Seungmin was moving.

"Hey, Han, guard the bathroom," he frantically said to Jisung, who was thankfully standing around the door before Seungmin pushed him inside the bathroom.~~
