~Chapter 2~
"Omg, you were being serious," Seungmin sighed, seeing Chan leaning against the wall by the door. "What's the deal?? Doctor Kim told you to keep an eye on me or something??" he asked, irritation evident in his voice.
"Doctor Kim told me to watch after your father. I just happen to like you," Chan cutely teased him, gently patting the top of his head. Seungmin sucked his teeth, brushing his hand away.
"You don't even know me," Seungmin protested to the older.
"So let's change that," Chan responded with a grin. "Come on," he cheerily said, picking up the bag and slinging it over his shoulder.
Seungmin laughed at the slight struggle with the heaviness of his bag. He should've insisted on carrying it himself, but Chan was so eager to take him home, so oh well. He followed closely behind as Chan waved goodbye to all the nurses and doctors they passed on their way to the elevator.
"You can relax. I promise I won't kill you," Chan joked while he pressed the garage-level button, glancing over to Seungmin, tensed up in the corner of the elevator.
"Thank you for that," Seungmin replied sarcastically, relaxing his shoulders. "I'm fine."
Chan laughed just as the elevator dinged and quickly opened its doors. The two stepped out, with Seungmin still trailing behind, following his lead. "This is your car??" Seungmin unimpressively asked.
"Yeah," Chan chuckled, pulling his keys from his coat pockets. "What's wrong with my car??" he questioned, opening the back door and placing his bag inside.
"Nothing...I mean, y-you're a doctor."
"An intern," Chan corrected him. "Very audacious of you, considering you don't have a car," he snapped, settling into the driver seat.
"First of all, I do have a car..." Seungmin retorted defensively, climbing in beside him. "I just don't like to drive," he admitted hesitantly, avoiding the olders eyes. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."
"It's okay," Chan said with a smile, reaching over and gently lifting Seungmin's chin to meet his gaze. "It's a piece of crap, I know," he laughed, rolling his eyes as he pulled his hand back and put the key in the ignition, starting the car.
Chan glanced at Seungmin as he pulled out the space towards the exit. It was clear he wanted to ask him something. "Seungmin, what are you curious about??"
"Nothing," Seungmin responded, turning his attention out the window.
"I'm a big boy; you won't hurt my feelings," Chan said confidently.
"Just the car..." Seungmin replied carefully, glancing back at him. "I just assumed you'd have something fancier."
"It's the first car I bought for myself," Chan explained. "I saved up every penny I earned through high school, and when I turned 18, I bought it."
"So, you're a sentimental guy," Seungmin implied.
"Huh, you definitely could say that," Chan laughed, never considering the labeling. "She still drives perfectly fine despite how she looks, and I can't bear to let her go."
"She?? Does she have a name," Seungmin giggled.
"She does. Maybe I'll tell you one day," Chan smiled, quickly glancing at him. "Put your address in my phone so I can take you home," he said, nodding towards his phone. Seungmin hummed, removed his phone from the mount, entered his address, and replaced it when he finished.
"Huh," Chan laughed lightly to himself as he watched Seungmin return the phone back to the mount.
"What??" Seungmin laughed, leaning back in his seat.
