The icy wind cut through the air as ENHYPEN stood outside, filming for another outdoor variety show. Winter had fully settled in, and the landscape around them was a frozen wonderland—snow-covered trees, icy paths, and a bitter cold that seemed to seep into their bones. Despite the freezing temperatures, the members were in good spirits, laughing and joking as they prepared for the next game.

Sunghoon pulled his scarf tighter around his neck, his breath visible in the frigid air. Cold weather had always been something he was used to, given his background as a figure skater, but even he could feel the bite of the wind today. The show had been going smoothly so far, but the next challenge made him feel a little uneasy.

The producers had set up an obstacle course across a large frozen lake, with small tasks scattered across the ice. The members were supposed to race each other, completing tasks along the way, all while balancing on the slippery surface.

As Sunghoon laced up the skates they’d provided, his skating instincts kicked in. He had skated on ice all his life, but there was something about this frozen lake that made him cautious. The ice didn’t seem as thick as he would have liked, and although the staff assured them it was safe, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.

“Sunghoon-hyung, you’re going to destroy us in this race,” Ni-Ki joked, nudging him as they both stood by the edge of the lake.

Sunghoon forced a smile, trying to push the unease out of his mind. “Don’t underestimate me,” he teased back, though his eyes kept darting to the cracks that spidered beneath the surface of the ice.

As the starting whistle blew, the members took off across the frozen expanse. Sunghoon quickly pulled ahead, his skating experience giving him a clear advantage. His movements were graceful and precise, gliding over the ice like he was born on it. The wind whipped through his hair as he focused on the tasks ahead, but that uneasy feeling stayed with him, lurking in the back of his mind.

As he reached the halfway point of the course, Sunghoon slowed down, completing the first task—collecting an item placed at the center of the ice. The others were catching up, and Sunghoon felt his competitive side kick in. He grinned, ready to speed up and finish the race, but just as he pushed off for his next stride, a sharp, ominous sound echoed through the air.

Crack.

Sunghoon froze in place, his heart pounding. He looked down and saw thin fractures spreading out from beneath his feet, snaking across the ice. His breath caught in his throat as he realized what was happening.

The ice was breaking.

“Hyung, get off the ice!” Jungwon shouted from behind, his voice panicked as he saw the cracks beneath Sunghoon’s skates.

But before Sunghoon could react, the ice beneath him gave way.

With a sudden, sickening drop, the world tilted, and Sunghoon plunged into the freezing water below. The shock of the cold was immediate and overwhelming, his body seized up as the icy water enveloped him. His skates tangled in the broken shards of ice, and he kicked desperately, trying to find the surface, but the water pulled him down, dragging him beneath the shattered ice.

The freezing cold bit into his skin like knives, stealing his breath and making his muscles seize up. His heart raced, panic flooding his veins as he struggled to break free. The darkness beneath the ice was disorienting, and every movement felt sluggish, his limbs heavy and unresponsive in the frigid water.

---

Above the surface, the members screamed in horror as they saw Sunghoon disappear beneath the ice.

“Sunghoon!” Jake yelled, rushing toward the edge of the cracked ice. The staff scrambled to get help, but the lake was vast, and it felt like everything was happening in slow motion.

“Someone get him out!” Jay shouted, his voice filled with fear as he looked at the dark hole in the ice where Sunghoon had fallen.

Jungwon dropped to his knees at the edge of the hole, frantically reaching into the water, but the freezing cold bit at his hands, and he couldn’t feel anything.

“He’s not coming up!” Ni-Ki’s voice was thick with terror, and all of them felt helpless, watching the seconds tick by with no sign of Sunghoon.

---

Under the ice, Sunghoon’s lungs burned as he fought to reach the surface, but his vision was dimming, the cold sapping every ounce of strength from his body. His fingers clawed at the ice above him, desperately trying to find the break, but the freezing water disoriented him, and the surface seemed impossibly far away.

His mind raced—flashes of his members, their laughter earlier, their friendship. His dreams, everything he had worked so hard for—it couldn’t end like this.

But as the cold seeped deeper into his bones, his movements slowed, and darkness crept in at the edges of his vision.

---

Just as the world began to fade, something grabbed onto his wrist, pulling him with a sudden, fierce force. The ice above him shattered again, and he felt the rush of air as he was dragged out of the freezing water.

Sunghoon gasped, choking on air as he broke the surface, his body shaking uncontrollably from the cold. He was hauled onto solid ice, his vision blurry, but he could hear the frantic voices of his members around him.

“Sunghoon! Hyung!” Jake was kneeling beside him, his face pale with fear as he shook Sunghoon’s shoulders. “Stay with us!”

Sunghoon’s body convulsed as he coughed up water, his skin blue from the cold. His entire body trembled violently, but the warmth of his members’ hands on him, the sound of their voices, grounded him. He could hear Ni-Ki sobbing, and Jay’s panicked breathing as they hovered over him.

“We need to get him warm, now!” Sunoo’s voice was frantic, his eyes wide with terror as he looked at Sunghoon’s pale face.

The staff rushed over with blankets, wrapping them around Sunghoon as they carried him off the ice. His body was so cold it felt like his bones were frozen solid, and his mind was still foggy, but as he looked around, he saw the faces of his members—scared, but there.

“You’re okay, Sunghoon,” Jungwon said, his voice shaky but reassuring. “You’re safe now.”

Sunghoon nodded weakly, though his body was still trembling. His lips were numb, and he could barely speak, but he knew one thing for sure—if it weren’t for his members, he might not have made it out of that freezing water.

As they carried him to the waiting ambulance, Sunghoon’s mind drifted in and out of focus, but one thought remained clear: he wasn’t alone. His brothers, his team, had saved him. And that thought, more than anything else, kept him warm as the cold tried to claim him.

---

The next few days passed in a blur of hospital visits and recovery. Sunghoon had narrowly avoided hypothermia, but the doctors insisted on rest and monitoring to ensure no lasting damage.

His ankle had been sprained during the fall, and his body ached from the cold, but as Sunghoon lay in the hospital bed, surrounded by his members, he felt a deep sense of gratitude. They had stayed by his side the entire time, never leaving him alone, their concern evident in every action.

“You scared us, hyung,” Ni-Ki said softly, his voice still thick with emotion.

Sunghoon smiled weakly, his body still exhausted but his heart full. “I’m sorry I worried you.”

“We’re just glad you’re okay,” Jay said, squeezing his shoulder.

Sunghoon’s heart swelled with warmth despite the chill that still lingered in his bones. He knew now, more than ever, that no matter how dangerous things got, no matter how close to the edge he came, his members would always be there to pull him back.

And that was all the warmth he needed.
