The sun hung high in the sky, beaming down on Enhypen as they eagerly stepped out of the dorm. After weeks of back-to-back rehearsals, performances, and promotional activities, they had finally been gifted a rare day off—a perfect opportunity to recharge and bond as a group. The destination: a bustling amusement park filled with rides, food, and laughter. Everyone had been looking forward to it, except for Ni-ki, who had been uncharacteristically quiet all morning.

“Hyung, I don’t feel well…” Ni-ki muttered to Sunghoon while rubbing his temple, his brows furrowed in discomfort.

Sunghoon shot him a quick glance but waved him off. “Ni-ki, come on, you say that every time we go out. You just don’t want to walk, do you?” he teased, ruffling the younger boy’s hair.

“I’m serious,” Ni-ki insisted, his voice quiet, but Sunghoon had already turned back toward the others, catching up with Jake, who was excitedly talking about all the rides they would go on.

Ni-ki sighed. He knew his hyungs loved to joke around, but lately, it felt like they never took him seriously. It wasn’t the first time they brushed off his complaints, assuming he was being dramatic or trying to sneak his way out of a group activity. Being the youngest in the group wasn’t easy; he often had to work twice as hard to prove himself. And today, when he really wasn’t feeling well, they weren’t buying it.

But despite the pounding headache that was making him feel dizzy, Ni-ki stuffed his hands into his pockets and followed the rest of the members out the door.

By the time they arrived at the amusement park, the warm breeze, the cheerful crowds, and the tantalizing smell of sweet snacks seemed to lift everyone’s spirits. Jake practically sprinted ahead, his eyes lighting up as he pointed at one of the biggest roller coasters in the park.

“Look at that one! We’re definitely going on that first!” he said with excitement.

Heeseung chuckled, clapping Jake on the shoulder. “Hold on, let’s take it easy. We have all day.”

The other members quickly fell into step, their usual banter filling the air. Ni-ki, however, lingered behind, feeling his energy drain with every step. His head felt heavier, the sunlight making his vision blur a little. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear his sight, but the light sensitivity only made his headache worse. He wiped his nose absentmindedly, feeling a slight trickle of something wet, but brushed it off as sweat from the heat.

The first stop was the snack stands. Sunghoon had his heart set on trying some churros, and Jay was eyeing a stand selling iced lemonades. Everyone huddled around, laughing and talking over what they wanted to eat first. Ni-ki stood back, leaning against a railing, his legs trembling slightly. His body felt warm, too warm, and his mouth was dry, but he didn’t want to ruin the fun. He rubbed his forehead with the back of his hand, trying to ease the pounding headache, but it only grew worse.

Heeseung was the first to notice Ni-ki standing off to the side, his usual spark missing. “Ni-ki! Come get something to eat. You need energy if you’re gonna keep up with us today,” he called over, motioning for the maknae to join them.

“I’m not hungry,” Ni-ki mumbled, trying to suppress the growing nausea in his stomach.

“Not hungry?” Jake raised an eyebrow. “You love churros. What’s wrong with you today?”

“I just don’t feel good,” Ni-ki said, rubbing his arm and glancing away.

“Ni-ki,” Jay said, his tone more serious now, “if you really didn’t want to come, you should’ve just said so. You’re acting weird.”
