The argument had started so suddenly, catching even Jungwon off guard. It had been a long day, full of back-to-back rehearsals, meetings, and recordings. The whole group was exhausted, and the tension in the air was almost palpable. They were scheduled to go live on Weverse that evening, a chance to connect with fans and wind down. But nerves were frayed, and everyone seemed to be on edge, especially Jungwon and Sunoo.

The incident began innocently enough. They were all seated on the couch, chatting and laughing with their fans, the exhaustion from the day momentarily forgotten. But as they talked, Sunoo made a playful comment about Jungwon’s leadership, something about him being a bit too “serious” during rehearsals. Normally, Jungwon would have laughed it off, recognizing it as the usual banter between them. But tonight, worn down and stretched thin, the comment hit a sore spot.

Jungwon’s smile faded, replaced by a frown. “I’m serious because we need to be,” he said, his tone sharper than he intended. The fans picked up on the change in his demeanor immediately, and Sunoo’s own playful expression turned to a look of surprise.

“Why are you getting so worked up?” Sunoo shot back, a hint of defensiveness creeping into his voice.

The two of them stared at each other, the room suddenly tense and quiet. The other members exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to diffuse the situation on a live broadcast. Jungwon tried to keep his composure, but the exhaustion and frustration he’d been holding back all day spilled over.

“I’m getting worked up because we have to keep improving,” Jungwon said, his voice rising slightly. “I push us because that’s my job as the leader.”

Sunoo looked hurt, his eyes flashing with something that Jungwon couldn’t quite place. “Yeah, well, you don’t have to act like you’re the only one putting in effort.”

Jungwon knew he should have stopped, should have taken a deep breath and let it go. But the words kept coming, harder and harsher. “Maybe if you’d take things a bit more seriously, I wouldn’t have to push so much.”

Sunoo’s face fell, and the impact of Jungwon’s words was clear. The other members tried to step in, changing the subject and guiding the conversation back to something lighthearted, but the damage was done. When the live ended, Sunoo left the room in silence, and Jungwon was left with a sinking feeling of regret.

For the next few days, Sunoo and Jungwon kept their distance. Their usual warmth and easy camaraderie were replaced by an uncomfortable silence that hung over the dorm like a storm cloud. They both tried to act normal, but the tension was obvious to everyone.

The fans, however, were not as forgiving. Clips from the live spread quickly online, and soon enough, Jungwon was facing a torrent of criticism. He was accused of being too harsh, of not respecting his hyungs, and of trying to make Sunoo look bad. The more he scrolled through the comments, the more his heart sank. They didn’t understand. Jungwon had always respected his hyungs deeply, and his relationship with Sunoo had always been special. But that night, he’d just been tired and overwhelmed, and he’d let his frustration get the best of him.

With each comment he read, the weight of guilt grew heavier on his shoulders. The words “bad leader” echoed in his mind, and no matter how much he tried to shake it off, the criticism cut deep. He knew he had to make things right, not just for the fans but for Sunoo and the rest of the members, who had all been caught in the crossfire.

One evening, after everyone else had gone to bed, Jungwon finally gathered the courage to approach Sunoo. He knocked softly on his door, his heart pounding in his chest. He wasn’t sure what he would say, only that he had to apologize, had to try and fix what he’d broken.

“Come in,” came Sunoo’s voice from the other side, soft but wary.

Jungwon entered, closing the door behind him. Sunoo was sitting on his bed, scrolling through his phone, but he looked up when he saw Jungwon, his expression guarded.

“Sunoo-hyung… I’m sorry,” Jungwon began, his voice barely above a whisper. “I didn’t mean to hurt you. I was tired, and I let my frustration get to me. It wasn’t fair to take it out on you.”

Sunoo watched him, his eyes softening slightly. But Jungwon could feel his own eyes start to sting, the emotions he’d been holding back for days finally surfacing. “I know I have a responsibility as the leader, but I never wanted to make you feel like you’re not important or that I don’t respect you.”

Tears began to well up in his eyes, and he looked down, ashamed. “I’ve been trying so hard to keep everything together, to be a good leader, but I feel like I’m failing. I’m so sorry, hyung.”

The sight of Jungwon’s tears broke through Sunoo’s own walls. He hadn’t realized just how much weight Jungwon was carrying on his shoulders, and seeing him like this made his heart ache. Sunoo reached out, placing a comforting hand on Jungwon’s shoulder.

“Jungwon,” he said gently, “I didn’t know you felt that way. I know you’re under a lot of pressure, and I should have been more understanding. I was hurt by what you said, but I should’ve talked to you about it instead of avoiding you. We both made mistakes.”

Jungwon looked up, relief flooding his face as Sunoo’s words sank in. Sunoo offered him a small, understanding smile. “We’re a team, remember? You don’t have to carry everything on your own.”

Jungwon nodded, wiping away his tears. “Thank you, hyung. I just… I don’t want to let anyone down.”

“You’re not letting anyone down,” Sunoo assured him. “Being a leader doesn’t mean being perfect. We’re all here for each other, no matter what.”

They sat in silence for a moment, the tension that had weighed on them for days finally dissolving. Sunoo squeezed Jungwon’s shoulder, a silent reassurance that he wasn’t alone in this.

“I love you, hyung,” Jungwon said softly, his voice filled with sincerity.

Sunoo chuckled, a warm, genuine smile spreading across his face. “I love you too, you little perfectionist.”

As they laughed, a sense of peace washed over them, a feeling that their bond was stronger than any argument, stronger than any misunderstanding. They were family, and no matter how rough the road might get, they knew they’d always find their way back to each other.

The next day, the group gathered for another Weverse live, ready to address their fans. Sunoo and Jungwon sat beside each other, their smiles warm and genuine as they reassured everyone that everything was okay. They shared a few playful moments, reminding everyone of the close bond they shared, and fans could see that they had mended whatever had come between them.

And as the live continued, Jungwon felt a weight lift from his heart. He knew he still had a lot to learn as a leader, and he’d make mistakes along the way. But with his hyungs by his side, and Sunoo’s forgiving smile, he felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
