The haldi and mehndi ceremonies were done, and the vibrant festivities slowed down for a while, leaving everyone a little breathless but still basking in the warmth and joy of the wedding preparations. The grand family mansion where Jungkook, Yoongi, and Jimin were staying with their parents became a quieter place as everyone settled into the normal days leading up to the next big event: the sangeet ceremony.

It was a beautiful, sprawling mansion with spacious rooms, traditional wooden furnishings, and large windows that let in the sunlight during the day. The large backyard had been transformed into a hub of wedding preparation, but inside, it was mostly calm, allowing the families to breathe before the whirlwind of events resumed.

Jimin found himself in the large kitchen one evening, preparing tea. He had managed to get some time to himself, away from all the excitement, and he needed a moment to think. The house had been bustling with people for days, and it was rare to find peace and quiet here. Just as he was stirring sugar into the pot, he heard footsteps behind him.

“I thought I’d find you here.” Yoongi’s voice was unmistakable, and Jimin sighed dramatically without turning around.

“Do you just follow me around at this point?” Jimin asked, rolling his eyes.

Yoongi leaned against the kitchen counter, watching him with an easy grin. “What can I say? You’re fun to bother.”

Jimin glared at him, but there was a trace of amusement in his eyes. “I’m making tea, so if you don’t want to get scalded, you should keep your distance.”

“Oh, scary,” Yoongi teased, his smirk widening. “But I’ll take my chances.”

Jimin tried to ignore him, focusing on pouring the tea into cups. He handed one to Yoongi without a word, and Yoongi accepted it, surprised.

“Didn’t think you’d actually be nice to me,” Yoongi said, taking a sip of the tea.

“I’m always nice,” Jimin replied. “You’re just too annoying for me to show it.”

Yoongi chuckled, shaking his head. “You’ve got jokes, Jimin. I like that about you.”

Jimin, who was taking a sip of his own tea, nearly choked. “You like that about me?” he spluttered, feeling his face flush.

“Sure,” Yoongi said with a casual shrug. “You’ve got a bite to you. It’s entertaining.”

Jimin set his cup down with a little too much force. “I’m not here for your entertainment, Yoongi.”

Yoongi laughed, the sound deep and rich. “You’ve said that before. But I think you secretly enjoy my company.”

Jimin rolled his eyes again, but this time it was more out of habit than frustration. There was something about Yoongi’s teasing that had started to grow on him, though he’d never admit it out loud. “You’re delusional.”

“Maybe,” Yoongi mused, leaning a little closer, his dark eyes locking with Jimin’s. “But you’re still here, aren’t you?”

Jimin’s breath caught in his throat, and for a moment, neither of them said anything. The air between them felt different—charged with something Jimin couldn’t quite place. But before he could respond, the sound of a door opening snapped him out of it.

Jungkook wandered into the kitchen, looking freshly showered and still glowing from all the wedding excitement. “Hey, are you guys hogging all the tea?” he asked, walking over to grab a cup.

Jimin was grateful for the interruption, though a little flustered. “I made enough for everyone,” he said, quickly stepping away from Yoongi and focusing on Jungkook instead.

Jungkook took a sip and sighed in satisfaction. “You make the best tea, hyung.”

Jimin smiled softly. “Thanks, Kookie.”

Jungkook looked between the two of them, raising an eyebrow. “What’s going on here? You guys look weird.”

Yoongi chuckled, running a hand through his hair. “Nothing. Just having a little chat with your brother.”

“Is that what you call it?” Jimin muttered under his breath.

Jungkook’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Well, I’m glad you two are getting along,” he said, his grin wide. “Yoongi-hyung can be a handful, but once you get used to him, he’s not so bad.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to him,” Jimin grumbled, earning a quiet laugh from Yoongi.

As the three of them stood in the kitchen, sipping tea, there was a comfortable silence for a moment. It was nice to have a break from all the chaos, to just enjoy each other’s company in the calm before the storm.

“So,” Jungkook said after a while, his voice soft. “Taehyung and I were thinking of going for a late-night walk in the garden. Want to join?”

Jimin’s face softened at the mention of Taehyung. “You two are so cute, I swear. You know what, I’ll leave you guys to your romantic walks.”

Jungkook laughed, his eyes crinkling with happiness. “Fine, fine. I’ll see you later then, hyung.” He waved, giving Yoongi a nod before heading out to find Taehyung.

Jimin watched him go, a fond smile on his face. He was happy that Jungkook had found someone who made him so joyful. It made all the teasing and madness worth it.

Yoongi, who had been quietly watching Jimin, spoke up. “You really care about him, don’t you?”

Jimin nodded. “Of course. He’s my brother.”

There was a long pause before Yoongi added, “I can see why you’d want to protect him. But it’s good to let him live a little too. He’s happy with Taehyung.”

Jimin looked at Yoongi, surprised by the sincerity in his voice. “Yeah, I know. I just… I don’t want anything to ruin that.”

Yoongi smiled softly, his usual smirk fading into something gentler. “Don’t worry. Jungkook and Taehyung? They’re solid.”

Jimin nodded, feeling a little more at ease. Maybe Yoongi wasn’t as bad as he’d initially thought.

“Thanks for the tea, by the way,” Yoongi said, setting his empty cup down.

“Yeah, yeah,” Jimin replied, waving him off. “Don’t get used to it.”

Yoongi’s smirk returned. “Too late.”

And just like that, the teasing was back, but this time, Jimin didn’t mind as much.
