The room was quiet, the hum of the air conditioning the only sound that filled the space. Jimin had finally started to drift off to sleep when he felt a soft movement from Yoongi’s side of the room. He opened his eyes slightly, just enough to see Yoongi shifting in his bed, turning over on his side to face him.
Jimin quickly shut his eyes, pretending to be asleep, but his heart started racing again. He could feel Yoongi’s gaze lingering on him, and it sent a strange flutter through his chest. It was both exciting and unnerving, especially after the day's teasing and subtle glances.
He kept his eyes closed, hoping to relax, but then he heard a soft voice from across the room.
“Jimin?” Yoongi called out quietly, his voice low, almost like he wasn’t sure if Jimin was still awake.
Jimin didn’t respond right away, wondering if maybe Yoongi would go back to sleep. But the sound of the blanket rustling caught his attention, and he felt a slight shift on the mattress beside him. Opening his eyes slightly, he saw Yoongi standing by his bed, his silhouette faintly illuminated by the dim light coming through the curtains.
“Yoongi?” Jimin whispered, his voice soft, barely audible.
Yoongi scratched the back of his neck, looking a little hesitant. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you. It’s just… I couldn’t sleep,” he said, his voice unusually vulnerable, not like the usual teasing tone Jimin had grown used to.
Jimin sat up slowly, blinking away the sleep from his eyes. “It’s fine. What’s up?” he asked, his heart pounding a little harder now that Yoongi was so close.
Yoongi hesitated for a moment, then sighed softly. “I don’t know. I guess I just… needed to talk. Or not talk. I don’t know,” he said, the uncertainty in his voice catching Jimin off guard.
Without really thinking, Jimin patted the space beside him on the bed. “You can sit here if you want. Maybe we can just… not talk,” he suggested, trying to keep his tone light, though his nerves were starting to spike.
Yoongi looked at him for a long moment before finally nodding. He sat down on the edge of the bed, the mattress dipping slightly under his weight. There was a silence between them, not awkward but filled with unspoken tension.
They both stared ahead for a moment, neither sure how to break the stillness. Jimin could feel the heat from Yoongi’s body radiating next to him, and it made his pulse quicken. He glanced sideways at Yoongi, who was staring down at the floor, deep in thought.
“You know,” Yoongi started, his voice quiet, “I didn’t expect this trip to feel so... different.” He turned his head to meet Jimin’s gaze, and their eyes locked in a way that sent a jolt through Jimin’s entire body.
“Different how?” Jimin asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Yoongi leaned back a little, his hand resting casually on the bed, dangerously close to Jimin’s leg. “I don’t know… I guess I didn’t expect to be thinking about you this much,” he admitted, his voice calm, but the confession hit Jimin like a wave.
Jimin’s breath caught in his throat. “What… what do you mean?” he asked, his heart pounding louder in his ears.
Yoongi chuckled softly, but there was no teasing in his tone this time. “I think you know what I mean, Jimin,” he said, his eyes flicking down to Jimin’s lips for just a second before locking with his gaze again.
Jimin felt a shiver run down his spine. The air between them felt heavy, charged with an intensity that hadn’t been there before. Yoongi’s face was close now, much closer than it had been all day, and Jimin could see the flicker of uncertainty in his eyes mixed with something else—something deeper.
Before Jimin could process what was happening, Yoongi’s hand brushed against his, a light touch that sent sparks up his arm. Jimin’s eyes widened slightly, and Yoongi leaned in, just enough to close the distance between them, his lips hovering dangerously close to Jimin’s ear.
“If you want me to stop, just say it,” Yoongi whispered, his breath warm against Jimin’s skin.
Jimin felt his heart skip a beat. He didn’t say anything, though. He didn’t move away. Instead, he stayed still, feeling the heat between them grow as Yoongi’s hand slid up to his arm, tracing a slow, deliberate line that made Jimin’s breath hitch.
Then, in one smooth motion, Yoongi leaned back just a little and pinned Jimin softly against the headboard, his hand resting on either side of him, effectively trapping him between his arms.
Jimin’s eyes widened, a rush of both nervousness and something exhilarating sweeping through him. “Yoongi…” he started, his voice shaking slightly, but he couldn’t finish the sentence because Yoongi’s eyes were locked on his, filled with a depth that made it hard for Jimin to think straight.
“You’re cute when you’re flustered, you know that?” Yoongi teased, his smirk returning, but there was a softness in his gaze that made it feel less like teasing and more like something real.
Jimin’s heart raced, and he couldn’t tell if it was fear or excitement that was making him feel like this. Maybe it was both. But as Yoongi leaned in just a fraction closer, his lips now only inches away, Jimin felt the world around him blur, the only thing that mattered being the man in front of him.
For a long moment, neither of them moved, the tension between them thick and palpable. Then, just as Jimin thought Yoongi might actually close the gap between them, Yoongi smirked again, pulling back slightly but not letting go of the space between them.
“Relax,” Yoongi whispered, his voice low and calming. “I’m not gonna do anything you don’t want me to do.”
Jimin exhaled a breath he didn’t realize he had been holding, his body still humming from the closeness. He wasn’t sure what he wanted at that moment, but one thing was clear—whatever was happening between them wasn’t something he could ignore anymore.
Jimin felt his pulse finally slow down as Yoongi pulled back, his teasing words still echoing in his head. He was left feeling vulnerable, but there was also something comforting about Yoongi’s calm presence. He hadn’t realized just how much tension had been building between them until now.
Yoongi shifted back to his side of the bed, giving Jimin the space he needed. He rested his arms behind his head and glanced over at Jimin, a soft, knowing smile playing on his lips. “You don’t have to worry so much, you know,” he said, his voice much lighter now.
Jimin chuckled nervously, sitting up a bit straighter. “Worry about what?”
Yoongi’s smile widened slightly. “About whatever’s going on between us. It doesn’t have to be complicated.”
Jimin looked at him, biting his lip. “It feels pretty complicated,” he admitted softly.
Yoongi nodded slowly, his gaze thoughtful. “Maybe. But not in a bad way.” He glanced over at the window, the moonlight casting a faint glow over the room. “We’ll figure it out.”
Jimin sighed, leaning back against the pillows. He wasn’t sure how to respond, but something about Yoongi’s words made him feel calmer. As confusing as it all was, he trusted that Yoongi wouldn’t push him into anything he wasn’t ready for.
The room fell quiet again, but this time, it felt different—more comfortable, like the unspoken tension between them had eased. Jimin’s heart still raced when he thought about how close Yoongi had been, but he also felt a sense of relief, knowing they could talk about it openly.
As the night grew darker, the two of them eventually drifted off to sleep, their conversation lingering in the air like a promise of something more to come.
