Later that evening, as Jimin and Yoongi sat on the couch, cuddled up and watching the soft glow of the television, Jimin's expression turned more serious. He bit his lip, nervousness fluttering in his chest as he debated whether or not to speak.
Yoongi noticed the shift in Jimin's mood almost immediately. He looked down at Jimin, his hand gently rubbing circles on Jimin’s back. "What’s on your mind, Jiminie?" Yoongi asked softly, his voice filled with concern.
Jimin hesitated for a moment, looking down at his hands before he finally spoke. "Yoongi... there's something I need to tell you."
Yoongi’s heart skipped a beat, his mind racing with possibilities. "What is it? You can tell me anything."
Jimin took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "I... I haven’t been to the doctor since I found out I was pregnant." His voice was quiet, almost ashamed. "I was too scared. Jack never cared, and I didn’t want to risk... well, you know, him finding out or hurting me again."
Yoongi’s eyes widened in surprise, and then softened with understanding. He gently cupped Jimin’s face, tilting it up so their eyes met. "Jimin, why didn’t you tell me sooner?" His voice was filled with concern, but there was no anger.
Jimin shrugged, feeling tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. "I didn’t want to worry you. And... I guess I was afraid of what they might find. What if something’s wrong?"
Yoongi’s heart ached at Jimin’s words, and he pulled him into a tight embrace. "Hey, we’ll figure it out together, okay? I’ll be with you every step of the way." He kissed the top of Jimin’s head. "Tomorrow, we’ll go see a doctor. It’s important for both you and the baby."
Jimin nodded, sniffling as he clung to Yoongi. "Okay... tomorrow."

The next morning, Yoongi made the arrangements for the appointment, ensuring they went to the best obstetrician in the city. He held Jimin’s hand tightly as they arrived at the clinic, offering him silent support.
Jimin was visibly nervous, his hand trembling in Yoongi’s as they sat in the waiting room. "What if... what if something's wrong?" Jimin whispered, his anxiety clear in his voice.
Yoongi squeezed his hand gently, leaning closer to whisper in his ear. "No matter what, we’ll get through it. You and me. We’ll make sure everything’s okay."
When they were finally called in, the doctor greeted them warmly. After a few initial questions, Jimin was lying on the examination table, his shirt lifted to expose his belly. The doctor applied some gel and turned on the ultrasound machine.
Jimin held his breath, his heart pounding in his chest. He kept his gaze fixed on Yoongi, seeking comfort in his presence.
Then, the sound of a tiny heartbeat filled the room.
Jimin’s eyes widened, and tears immediately sprang to his eyes. He gripped Yoongi’s hand tightly as the doctor pointed to the screen. "There’s your baby," the doctor said with a smile. "The heartbeat is strong, and everything looks good so far."
Jimin let out a shaky breath, tears spilling over as he looked at Yoongi with a mix of disbelief and relief. "Yoongi... that’s our baby."
Yoongi’s own eyes were filled with tears as he stared at the screen, completely mesmerized. He leaned down, pressing a kiss to Jimin’s forehead. "Yeah, Jimin. That’s our baby."
The doctor continued with the checkup, reassuring them that everything was progressing well, but also emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups moving forward.
After the appointment, Jimin and Yoongi walked out of the clinic hand in hand, both of them feeling a little lighter. There was still a long road ahead, but knowing that their baby was healthy gave them both a sense of hope.
As they drove home, Jimin rested his head on Yoongi’s shoulder, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Thank you for being with me through this. I don’t know what I’d do without you."
Yoongi smiled, his hand gently caressing Jimin’s knee. "You’ll never have to find out, Jimin. I’m not going anywhere. We’re in this together, remember?"
Jimin nodded, feeling more at peace than he had in a long time. With Yoongi by his side, he knew they could face anything together.
After the hospital visit, Jimin and Yoongi decided to take the rest of the day to relax and celebrate the good news. Yoongi noticed how Jimin’s mood had lightened after hearing their baby’s heartbeat, and he wanted to keep that joy going.
On the drive back home, Yoongi glanced at Jimin, who seemed lost in thought, staring out the window. "Hey," Yoongi said softly, reaching over to squeeze Jimin’s hand. "How about we stop for some ice cream? You’ve earned a treat after today."
Jimin blinked and looked over at Yoongi, a small smile forming on his lips. "Ice cream sounds really good right now."
With that, Yoongi turned the car toward their favorite little ice cream shop, a place they used to visit often before things got complicated. It was comforting, like a little piece of the past that they could still hold on to.
As they stepped inside, the familiar smell of freshly made waffle cones hit them, and Jimin’s eyes lit up as he looked at the menu. "I think... I want strawberry and chocolate," Jimin said, feeling a sense of nostalgia. "What about you?"
Yoongi chuckled. "I’ll get vanilla, as usual. You know I keep it simple."
They both ordered, and as they sat down with their ice cream, Jimin couldn’t stop smiling. He took a bite of the creamy treat, feeling the sweetness melt on his tongue. "This feels so normal, like old times."
Yoongi watched him with a soft expression, leaning forward to steal a bite of Jimin’s ice cream. "We deserve normal moments like this. Especially now, with everything we've been through."
Jimin nodded, his heart warming at Yoongi’s words. As they finished their ice cream, Yoongi suddenly had another idea. "You know what we should do next?"
Jimin raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Baby shopping."
Jimin’s eyes widened in surprise. "Already? We just had our first check-up!"
Yoongi grinned, standing up and holding out his hand for Jimin. "Yeah, but it’s never too early to start looking. Plus, it’ll be fun. Come on."
Jimin hesitated for a moment, but the excitement in Yoongi’s eyes was contagious. He took Yoongi’s hand, and they headed out toward a nearby baby store.
When they arrived, Jimin was overwhelmed by the rows of tiny clothes, cribs, and toys. His fingers brushed over the soft fabrics of little onesies, and for the first time, the reality of becoming a parent started to sink in.
"Look at this," Yoongi said, holding up a tiny pair of shoes. "Aren’t these adorable?"
Jimin laughed, feeling his heart swell at the sight. "They’re so small... I can’t believe we’re actually doing this."
Yoongi walked over to him, wrapping an arm around his waist. "Believe it, Jimin. We’re going to be parents, and we’re going to give our baby everything we didn’t have."
They spent the next hour wandering through the store, picking out a few small items—a couple of onesies, a soft blanket, and some baby toys. Jimin couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with emotion, but for the first time in a long while, it was a good feeling.
As they left the store, bags in hand, Jimin leaned into Yoongi’s side. "Thank you for this... for making everything feel so special."
Yoongi smiled down at him, kissing the top of his head. "You and our baby are special, Jimin. I want you to always feel that way."
Jimin sighed happily, knowing that with Yoongi by his side, everything was going to be okay. They had a future to look forward to, and for the first time, that future looked bright.
