As Jimin lingered in the comfort of Yoongi's embrace, he felt the weight of the world lift just a little. The warmth radiating from Yoongi’s body enveloped him, making him feel safe and cherished. The love they once shared was slowly rekindling, and for the first time in a long time, Jimin felt a flicker of hope ignite within him.
“Yoongi,” Jimin began, pulling back slightly to look into his eyes. “I’m scared. What if everything doesn’t work out? What if Jack finds me again?” The thought sent a shiver down his spine.
Yoongi’s gaze hardened at the mention of Jack. “We’ll figure it out, Jimin. You’re not alone in this anymore. I won’t let him hurt you again,” he promised, his voice steady and resolute. “We’ll keep you safe. I’ll make sure of it.”
Jimin felt a surge of gratitude and warmth, his heart swelling at Yoongi’s fierce determination. “Thank you,” he whispered, feeling overwhelmed by the depth of emotion swirling inside him. “I didn’t expect this. I thought... I thought I’d lost you for good.”
“You’re stuck with me now,” Yoongi replied with a soft smile, the hint of a playful glint in his eyes. “Besides, you’re the only one who can handle my awful singing.”
Jimin chuckled, the tension in his shoulders easing a bit. “I guess I’m the only one brave enough to endure it,” he said with a teasing grin.
After their heartfelt moment, they rejoined Jin, J-Hope, and Namjoon in the kitchen. The atmosphere was light, filled with laughter and shared stories. Jimin felt an unfamiliar sensation: the warmth of camaraderie and the joy of friendship. It felt so foreign yet incredibly soothing.
As they finished breakfast, Jin stood up and declared, “Alright, team! Let’s clean up this place and then plan a day out. We need to celebrate Jimin’s return to the living!” His enthusiasm was contagious, and J-Hope cheered, jumping up to help with the dishes.
Yoongi and Jimin exchanged amused glances, their bond feeling stronger with each passing moment. Jimin helped with the dishes, feeling more a part of this family than he ever thought possible.
Once the kitchen was tidy, Namjoon suggested they take a stroll outside. “Fresh air will do us good, and Jimin could use some time away from the house. Plus, we can grab some ice cream on the way,” he said, winking at Jimin.
“Yes, please! Ice cream sounds perfect!” Jimin exclaimed, the childlike excitement bubbling up inside him. The simple joy of spending time with friends made him forget, if only for a moment, the shadows that loomed over him.
As they stepped outside, the sun was bright and warm, casting a golden glow over everything. Jimin felt the warmth on his skin, a stark contrast to the coldness he had endured for so long. He walked beside Yoongi, their fingers brushing occasionally, sending tiny sparks of electricity through him.
“Are you really okay?” Yoongi asked quietly, his concern evident. “I don’t want to push you too hard.”
Jimin looked at him, sincerity shining in his eyes. “I’m okay, really. Being here with you all makes me feel... alive again. I’ve missed this. I’ve missed you.” His voice trembled slightly, vulnerability seeping through.
Yoongi smiled, a soft, genuine smile that reached his eyes. “I’ve missed you too, Jimin. You mean everything to me. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe and happy.”
As they walked, Jimin felt lighter, the burden of his past slowly lifting. He couldn’t deny the fear still lurking in the back of his mind, but with Yoongi by his side, he felt a little braver. They reached the ice cream shop, laughter and chatter filling the air, and Jimin found himself caught up in the moment.
