The family gathered around the large dining table, plates filled with delicious home-cooked food. The atmosphere was warm, filled with light chatter and laughter as everyone settled in. Jungkook sat beside Taehyung at one end, while Jimin sat next to Yoongi, glancing around the table, feeling the familiar comfort of family but also aware of the tension that sometimes came with these gatherings.
Jimin’s parents, visiting from their mansion nearby, sat across from Taehyung’s parents, who had flown in for a short visit. It was rare for them all to be together like this, and the conversation flowed naturally—until Jimin’s mother turned to him with a smile that signaled the start of something serious.
“So, Jimin,” his mother began, breaking the casual atmosphere, “have you thought about your future? Now that your brother is happily married, maybe it’s time we start discussing your plans.”
Jimin stiffened slightly, his eyes darting to Jungkook, who was already grinning, prepared to enjoy his brother’s discomfort. “Mom, do we really have to talk about this now?” Jimin asked, trying to deflect the conversation.
His father chuckled softly, “It’s only natural, Jimin. You’re not getting any younger, and we’d like to see you settled, too.”
Jungkook leaned in with a mischievous smirk. “Yeah, hyung. What’s the rush, though? Maybe we can start looking for someone soon.”
Jimin shot his brother a glare, but before he could respond, Yoongi, who had been quietly observing the conversation with his usual calm demeanor, spoke up. “Maybe Jimin just hasn’t found the right person yet,” Yoongi said with a smirk, clearly teasing, but his eyes sparkled with something else.
Jimin, flustered and annoyed, turned to Yoongi. “Not helping,” he muttered under his breath.
Sensing Jimin’s rising discomfort, Taehyung, always quick to shift the mood, cleared his throat and leaned forward. “Ah, marriage plans can wait, right? We’re here to enjoy dinner, after all. Let’s talk about something more fun.”
His lighthearted tone drew everyone's attention away from the topic, and Taehyung’s parents, always relaxed, nodded in agreement. “Yes, no need to rush,” Taehyung’s mother said warmly. “There’s plenty of time for those conversations later.”
The relief in Jimin’s expression was palpable as the conversation turned to lighter topics—vacation plans, upcoming family events, and shared memories. The shift in mood was swift, and everyone seemed more at ease.
Yoongi leaned slightly closer to Jimin, his voice low enough for only him to hear. “Saved by Taehyung, huh?”
Jimin shot him a look, but couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at his lips. “Yeah, lucky me,” he muttered, though he couldn’t ignore the flutter in his chest whenever Yoongi teased him like that.
The dinner continued, with laughter and stories filling the room, but the undercurrent of unresolved tension between Jimin and Yoongi lingered in the background, unnoticed by the rest of the family.
As the dinner continued, Jimin’s parents exchanged a glance and smiled at each other, clearly preparing for a surprise. Jimin’s father cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention. “Actually, speaking of travel,” he said, his eyes twinkling, “your mother and I have a little gift for the newlyweds.”
Jungkook and Taehyung looked up in curiosity. Jimin’s mother reached into her bag and pulled out a small envelope, handing it across the table to Jungkook. “We thought you two could use a little getaway after the wedding excitement,” she said with a warm smile. “So, we booked you both a honeymoon trip to London.”
Taehyung’s eyes widened in surprise, and Jungkook’s face lit up with a grin. “Seriously?” Jungkook asked, opening the envelope. Inside were tickets and hotel reservations for a week-long stay in London.
“Mom, Dad, this is amazing!” Jungkook exclaimed, glancing over at Taehyung, who was already beaming. “Thank you so much.”
Taehyung, always quick to express his joy, leaned in and hugged Jimin’s mother. “Thank you! I’ve always wanted to visit London. This is perfect!”
Jimin’s father chuckled. “We thought it would be a nice way for you both to relax and enjoy yourselves after all the wedding chaos.”
As Taekook continued to gush over the gift, Jungkook turned toward Jimin and Yoongi with a mischievous glint in his eye. “You know,” he began, “it wouldn’t be fair if Tae and I were the only ones enjoying a vacation.”
Taehyung quickly caught on, his playful grin returning. “Exactly! Why don’t you two come along as well? We could all go together and have some fun in London!”
Jimin immediately shook his head. “What? No way. This is your honeymoon, not a group trip.”
But Jungkook, as stubborn as ever, wouldn’t let it go. “Come on, hyung. It’ll be fun! You two could use a break too.”
Yoongi, always the calm one, raised an eyebrow but didn’t seem entirely opposed. “London, huh? I wouldn’t mind.”
Jimin shot him a look. “Yoongi, don’t encourage them.”
Taehyung, now fully invested in the idea, leaned in. “Think about it, Jimin. A whole week of exploring London. You could use some time away from everything.”
Jimin sighed, glancing between his brother, Taehyung, and Yoongi. “You guys are impossible.”
“Come on,” Jungkook said, giving Jimin his best puppy-eyed look. “It’s going to be fun. Besides, it’s not like we’ll be with you all the time. You and Yoongi can do your own thing too.”
Jimin’s resistance was clearly weakening, and Yoongi, sensing victory, added with a smirk, “Besides, I wouldn’t mind seeing how you handle London.”
Jimin groaned, knowing full well he was outnumbered. “Fine,” he muttered, throwing his hands up in defeat. “But if this turns into some weird double date thing, I’m blaming all of you.”
Taehyung laughed, clapping his hands. “It’s settled then! London, here we come!”
The room filled with excitement, the conversation shifting to vacation plans and all the places they wanted to see. Jimin tried to act annoyed, but the truth was, part of him was looking forward to the trip. Especially with Yoongi’s teasing smile lingering in his mind.
