A week after the decision to marry, Yoongi received an unexpected message. Jimin’s parents had requested to meet him. When Yoongi told Jimin about it, Jimin’s entire demeanor changed. His expression darkened, and Yoongi could see the pain, the deep resentment that still lingered from everything his parents had put him through.
"I don’t want to see them," Jimin said flatly, his voice colder than Yoongi had ever heard. "They’re the reason my life was destroyed. I don’t care what they want."
Yoongi nodded, understanding the depth of Jimin’s hurt. "You don’t have to, love. I’ll talk to them."
Jimin was silent for a moment, his gaze distant, but then he looked back at Yoongi. "If they try to hurt you, or guilt you, I won’t stand by. I’ll protect you, Yoongi. If they try to come between us again, they’ll have to deal with me."
Yoongi gave Jimin a soft smile, kissing his forehead. "I know you’ll protect me, Jimin. But I’ll handle this. You rest, okay?"
As Yoongi left to meet with Jimin’s parents, Jimin sat on the couch, his hands trembling with anger and fear. Memories of Jack, of his parents' betrayal, flooded his mind. The thought of facing them made him feel sick. His breathing became erratic, his heart racing as the panic threatened to overwhelm him. He clenched his fists, trying to calm himself, but the memories were too painful.
Downstairs, Yoongi greeted Jimin’s parents coldly. They looked older, more tired than he remembered, their faces lined with guilt and sorrow.
"We wanted to see Jimin," Jimin’s father began, his voice hesitant.
Yoongi’s eyes narrowed. "He doesn’t want to see you," he replied bluntly.
Jimin’s mother flinched, her eyes brimming with tears. "We made a mistake. We didn’t know what Jack was really like. If we had known, we never would have—"
Yoongi cut her off. "Your mistake almost cost Jimin his life. He suffered for years because of your decision, and now you expect him to just forgive and forget?"
Jimin’s father stepped forward, guilt weighing heavily in his voice. "We didn’t mean to hurt him. We thought we were doing what was best for him, but we were wrong. Please, just let us speak to him. We need to make things right."
Yoongi shook his head, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. "You don’t deserve his forgiveness. You handed him over to a monster, and you didn’t even try to see the pain he was in. He almost died because of you. If you truly cared, you’d leave him alone."
Just then, Jimin appeared at the top of the stairs, his face pale and filled with pain. "You want to make things right?" Jimin’s voice was sharp as he slowly descended the stairs, his body trembling with the weight of his emotions.
His parents looked up at him, hope flickering in their eyes, but it was quickly extinguished by Jimin’s cold glare.
"You chose Jack for me. You said it was for my future, but all you did was throw me into hell," Jimin spat, his voice shaking with anger. "You never cared about me. You cared about your reputation, your image. You wanted to marry me off like a pawn, and when I begged you to stop, you threatened me. You ruined my life."
Tears welled up in his mother’s eyes, and his father’s face crumbled with guilt. "We didn’t know... Jimin, we didn’t know he would hurt you like that."
Jimin shook his head furiously, stepping closer. "You didn’t care! You knew I loved Yoongi, and you still forced me to marry Jack. And now, after all the pain you caused, after everything you put me through, you think you can just waltz back into my life and ask for forgiveness? Well, you can’t."
