As they continued to sway gently, the atmosphere between Jimin and Yoongi felt lighter, the tension replaced by a budding friendship wrapped in playful banter.
“Okay, so now that we’ve danced like fools, what’s next?” Jimin asked, taking a step back to catch his breath.
“Maybe we should come up with a secret handshake,” Yoongi suggested with a smirk.
“Are you five?” Jimin shot back, rolling his eyes. “What would that even look like?”
“Something cool, obviously,” Yoongi replied, crossing his arms in mock seriousness. “Like a fist bump followed by a spin.”
Jimin laughed, shaking his head. “That sounds ridiculous. How about we just agree to bicker instead?”
“Bickering is my specialty,” Yoongi said, a grin spreading across his face. “I can out-bicker anyone.”
“Challenge accepted,” Jimin shot back, a competitive glint in his eyes. “You’ll need to try harder than that.”
“Oh really? You think you can take me on?” Yoongi raised an eyebrow, leaning closer. “I’m a master at this.”
Jimin smirked, feeling a surge of confidence. “You’re all talk, Min Yoongi. I bet you’ve never met anyone who can outwit you.”
“Please, I’m practically a legend,” Yoongi replied dramatically. “The bickering champion of the universe!”
“Alright, Mr. Champion, let’s hear your best comeback,” Jimin challenged, crossing his arms defiantly.
“Fine. I’ll use my best material,” Yoongi said, pretending to think hard. “Your hair looks like you just woke up!”
Jimin gasped in mock horror. “That’s your best? I can’t believe I’m losing to this!”
“Clearly, you’re just that bad,” Yoongi teased, a triumphant smile on his face.
“Okay, okay, my turn,” Jimin said, narrowing his eyes playfully. “You dress like a confused magician half the time.”
“Confused magician? Wow, Jimin, that’s low,” Yoongi retorted, feigning offense. “I put effort into my looks!”
“Effort or not, you still look like you should be pulling rabbits out of a hat,” Jimin shot back, unable to keep a straight face.
“You know what? You’re just jealous of my style,” Yoongi replied, trying to sound serious but failing as laughter bubbled up.
“Jealous? Of that?” Jimin laughed, shaking his head. “Not a chance.”
Their playful banter continued, each throwing gentle jabs at the other, both enjoying the camaraderie that was developing between them. Jimin felt a warmth grow in his chest—a sense of belonging he hadn’t expected.
As they wrapped up their playful exchange, Yoongi leaned back against the wall, arms crossed, a satisfied grin on his face. “See? Friends can bicker and still have fun.”
“Yeah, but don’t get too comfortable,” Jimin warned, playfully poking Yoongi’s shoulder. “I’m still keeping my eye on you, Min Yoongi.”
“Good, I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Yoongi replied, nudging Jimin back lightly. “Keeps things interesting.”
“Interesting is one word for it,” Jimin said, smirking. “More like exhausting.”
“Admit it, you love it,” Yoongi teased, his eyes sparkling.
“Maybe a little,” Jimin confessed, trying to sound reluctant. “But only because I can’t stand losing.”
“Then you better step up your game,” Yoongi said, giving him a challenging look.
