Harry is so hopeful that Matilda will stay with him now that she has a second chance, and Louis' heart already breaks for him, because he can see and feel what Harry probably doesn't: Matilda suffers.

She suffers badly and only tries to cover it up with a lot of questions. For Harry's sake, he thinks, because that's the only logical reason.

Whenever Harry's attention isn't on her Louis sees the darkness creeping back on her face and she radiates such a sadness that it would be a miracle if she makes it.

She's not happy, never has been, and the last time Harry wasn't able to save her, to make her happy. Even if that was hundreds of years ago, for her, nothing has changed.

She's still the girl who got pregnant by someone she hated and who can never have the one person she truly loves.

Her love for Harry is so obvious, Louis doesn't get how Harry could have been surprised when she told him in her farewell letter.

He must have been blind back then or maybe he just didn't want to see it and hoped she would forget about her feelings after a while.

Either way, it doesn't really matter, because she still is in love with Harry and clearly doesn't like her life now better than her last one.

After their meal they walk around town a while longer and Louis feels how Matilda withdraws more and more. She stops listening to Harry's story, fidgets with her clothes and stares into the distance.

This time, Harry feels it as well and he throws concerned glances her way.

All Louis wants is to prevent the heartbreak Harry will go through when Matilda leaves him again and so he decides to talk to her alone. He needs to know what's really going on inside her head even if he's not sure, she'll tell him.

“Tesoro, what if you already go to the hotel and work a little and I go to Palazzo Pitti with her? You can get something done and I get to know someone in my family,” he says, not sure how Harry thinks of it.

With a cute little pout on his face he stops and looks at Louis.

“Do you want to get rid of me?” He asks and Louis doesn't know what to answer. Yes, he wants to be alone with Matilda but for Harry's sake. Maybe she'll open up to him and tell him what she plans to do after breaking the curse. And if her plan is to commit suicide again, which Louis expects it to be, maybe he can convince her to give her life a second chance. He just doubts that she would be so open about all of it when Harry is around, because she doesn't want to hurt him.

“To be honest, babe, I really want some time alone with Matilda, yes,” he answers hesitantly, hoping that Harry wouldn't be mad about his honesty.

He doesn't look angry, but maybe a little hurt and Louis looks at him with pleading eyes, trying to tell him that he does it for him.
