When in the Presence of a Caregiver: Part 1 - Catherine Zeta-Jones

The cameras were flashing, the fans were screaming, and the mood of the event was booming. The 'Ant-man and The Wasp: Quantumania' World Premiere was the first Marvel event of the year, and luckily for the fans, it was being broadcasted on YouTube.

Everyone from the cast of the film was there. Not only them, but also their families and friends. As a constant producer for Marvel projects, and a dear friend to a lot of the cast members, Y/N was invited to the screening of the movie. She arrived very early. She wanted to greet her friends before all of them got caught up with the photos and interviews. You know, the normal red-carpet chaos.

As planned, Y/N was able to say hi to Paul, Evangeline, Kathryn and Michelle. She was also able to say hi to a bunch of her fellow executives as well as a few fans, and actors from the MCU that were also invited. The only person missing was Michael Douglas. Y/N and Michael got along pretty well; they understood each other in a unique way. Y/N waited for almost half an hour, but seeing as he wasn't going to arrive any time soon, she decided to get inside in order to get a good seat to watch the movie.

While she was waiting, she decided to see the carpet from her phone. A bunch of behind-the-scenes memories and a few spoilers were shared. She also got to see that Michael had already arrived with his wife Catherine and their son Dylan.

During Michael's interview, Y/N couldn't stop looking at Catherine. Apart from looking beautiful, Catherine kept leaning towards Michael, looking for his hand and trying to stay as close as possible to him. But that wasn't all, he kept squeezing her hand and then moved to rub circles on her back until the interview was over. Y/N didn't want to assume anything, but she knew those specific gestures very well, and who normally does them.

After the broadcast of the carpet ended, Y/N turned off her phone and waited patiently for the movie screening to start. Soon enough, the presentation of the movie by the president of Marvel, Mr. Kevin Feige, along with the cast, took place and everyone cheered before the movie started to play.

Y/N was really excited to watch the movie since Ant-man is her favorite superhero and considers he's very underrated. Halfway through the movie though, she couldn't help but look over to where Michael and his family were sitting. The light of the movie showed their faces as they watched the film intently, but yet again, Y/N couldn't get her eyes off Catherine.

She was looking straight forward, while her thumb was over her lips. She wasn't biting her nail nor picking at her skin, she was barely brushing it over her lips and at some point, she started to suck only the tip. Then, she went to rub her eyes, and not very softly. It was a full-on fist rub on each eye and Y/N got a bit worried for her makeup. It seemed Y/N's strong gaze had alerted Catherine, because she actually moved her head to the side and both of them made eye contact.

At first, Catherine was confused as to why a woman she hadn't met before was looking at her. But when Y/N smiled at her with so much care and...love, she didn't feel weird about it anymore. She actually got to smile when Y/N pretended to fall asleep, making her head drop and then suddenly wake up before cleaning the fake drool off her mouth. Catherine chuckled at her antics and Y/N chuckled along with her. Somehow, Catherine understood when Y/N mouthed a "Tired?", making Catherine nod a couple of times in response. Then, Y/N mouthed an "Almost over" and sent a wink along with a reassuring smile over to Catherine.

For some reason, that short interaction between the two women seemed to bring peace to both of their hearts. Catherine was able to settle back on her seat and not give in to her clear tiredness for the rest of the movie, and Y/N's suspicions from earlier were slightly confirmed, allowing her to also relax for the rest of the screening.

Once the main event was over, it was time for the after-party. This time though, Marvel had decided to host an after-party dinner since there were so many executives attending the carpet.
