It was a beautiful sunny day in the middle of July, and Patrick was ready to take on the day. He had specifically been waiting to finish the press tour of 'Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom', because once he was done with work, he could take a well-deserved break in the company of his Mama and spent all his time doing his favorite summer activity, swimming in his house's pool. Plus, with all the training he had been doing for the movie, well, he wanted to put his new abilities to the test.

"Come on, Mama. I been waidin' fow dis all ma life. Le's go!!!", Patrick urged Y/N while pulling her arm towards the backyard of their home.

"Okay, okay! I'm coming, Tricky. Give Mama a minute so she can finish gathering all your pool essentials", Y/N told her baby with an amused chuckle while she grabbed everything Patrick might need during his morning swim inside a basket.

"I gots my guggles an' my wader diapy an' my swim bodysuit an' my crwocs. I gots evewyfin' I needs. Le's go!", Patrick listed out impatiently before pulling Y/N's arm again so she would hurry up.

"I feel like there are a bunch of things missing in your list of pool essentials, but lucky for you, your Mama is the one who has to worry about those", Y/N commented playfully, only causing Patrick to whine further in dissatisfaction about his pool time being delayed. "Okay, I think I got everything. Let's head outside", Y/N announced while offering her hand to Patrick.

"Finawwy!", Patrick exclaimed relieved as he intertwined his hand with his Mama's hand and skipped outside in pure happiness. Y/N giggled at her baby's antics but smiled equally excited for their morning ahead.

Once they reached the pool lounge chairs, Y/N started unpacking her baby's essentials and setting up her own little station to enjoy the nice weather outside while Patrick swam his little life away inside the pool. Patrick, on the other hand, had flopped down on his bum on the floor to easily take off his clogs and get to the water already.

"Hold it right there, Mister. Where do you think you're going?", Y/N said with her warning voice while grabbing Patrick's forearm, stopping him from stepping any closer to the pool.

"To swim, Mama", Patrick answered Y/N in a duh tone, but he easily shrunk in place when Y/N sent him her scary crooked eyebrow.

"You can't go in the water without putting your floaties on, as well as some sunscreen. That's nonnegotiable, Tricky", Y/N explained to her baby, back in her loving tone, as she made Patrick sit down on her chair so she could get him completely ready to enter the pool.

"Bu' Mama, Orm no has to use floaties to swim. An' he no use sunscween eida", Patrick refuted his Mama's words, but Y/N was prepared. This wasn't the first time Patrick had mentioned one of his movie characters to get himself out of a situation he wasn't particularly fond of.

"First of all, Orm is Atlantean. He can breathe under water, you can't, baby. Therefore, the floaties stay on at all times unless I say otherwise. It is for your safety, Tricky", Y/N defended her request, using Patrick's argument to her advantage. Patrick huffed about it but still let Y/N slide the two floaties up his arms to rest over his biceps. It was a bit of a tight fit, but not so much as to hurt the baby. "Second, Orm has lived in the ocean, the deep, dark ocean, where sunlight literally does not reach, all his life. You live in LA, one of the hottest cities in the world, especially in July, when summer is in its prime. I don't know what skincare routine Atlanteans have, but I cannot risk you getting burnt. Your agent would kill me, and I don't think you prefer having your skin hurting when you can just protect it and avoid any harm from the beginning, right?", Y/N continued to reason with her little one, giving very good and fair arguments for the use of the protective cream.
