Saturday has finally come, where I have to go to my mom's house for Labor Day. It got delayed for about a week now due to my step-dad's apparent work reasons. Oh, and having to see with my stepdad.

Yay.

I decided to sleep in for a bit today, just to get some extra rest after a long, but fun, week. It was so nice texting Bruno last night; It's a shame that there's something in his life that's truly bothering him. I can see right through it. Could it be because of Annika? He didn't seem too happy to bring her up, let alone even talk about her. Or perhaps the oncoming stress associated with his newfound fame? When one becomes a celebrity, they technically can't live a normal life anymore without getting swarmed everywhere they go. Well, I guess even celebrities have their worries and downsides. I've always been one to give advice, so when he does open up to me, I'll be ready to help.

But hey, at least I get free food in addition to seeing Dahlia again. I can't wait to tell her about meeting Bruno. I won't go too deep into detail with that to my mom though; she's a bit old-fashioned and wouldn't be too crazy about me sparking a friendship with a celebrity, let alone one who supposedly had a womanizing past. I have to look into that.

It's pretty hot today, so I go through my closet and pick out a light white blouse with some flowery shorts. My mom lives around half an hour away, and I'll be leaving at around 12:30 PM, so I decided I'll drive there, even to brush up on my driving after taking all these cabs. It can save money too.

I check the time and it's 10:04 AM. I decide to make a strawberry-banana smoothie and text Amari, just to catch up on life.

Me:

Hey, girl! Hope you're doing well. Happy Labor Day!

Amari:

Heyyy! I'm doing well; just been busy with work and such. How's the cafe? Did Bruno come?

Me:

Yep, he did come to the cafe! It seems like he's trying to form a friendship with me; he even gave me his number...🤫

Amari:

Holy hell. You're like the luckiest girl on the planet right now, girl 😉😂 Let me know if anything happens!

Me:

It's not like that, Amari. He's just been going through some stuff and needs someone to talk to.

Amari:

Mmm... you sure about that? I mean, you're pretty hot...

Me:

Girl, shut up 😅 It doesn't seem like he's tried anything so far.

Amari:

Mhm... lemme know when he makes a move.

Me:

Lmao... alright, anywho, I gotta go to my parents today 🙄

Amari:

For the holiday? Labor Day ain't even important tbh...

Me:

Yeah, I know, but every year we have a barbecue. You already know the relationship between my mom and I has faded, and now I gotta deal with my asshole stepdad🙄

Amari:

Just hang in there girl. You can always leave early if you need too. Are you seeing Dahlia?
