Whew. Talk about an amazing day at work. Bruno Mars comes to my job, I introduce him to my friend and boss, and I get his number.
Man, I'm good.
I'm still wondering what that conversation with his girlfriend was about. He looked pretty on edge when he came back to the booth, and I could tell that he was hiding something. I wouldn't want their relationship to end.
Or would I?
Oh well. It's between them anyway.
I'm sitting on the couch in my apartment, on my laptop listening to music and drawing in my sketchbook for a bit. I then subsequently remember the text that Charlie sent me, and decide to call him and see when he can come over so he can tell me this mysterious thing he's been wanting to tell me.
My body moves forward to pick up my phone on the coffee table, and I text Charlie:
Hey, Charlie, what's up? When do you wanna come over?
Oh, hey Amber! Yeah, I can actually come over right now if you want.
Sure, sounds good.
I listen to some more music and all in all, just relax until I hear a knocking on the door. I get up and walk over to check the peephole, and sure enough, it's him. I open the door.
"May I come in?" Charlie asked, flashing a playful smile."Of course you can, dummy," I reply laughingly as we walk over to the couch.
"So how is everything?" He asks.
"Well, I actually have something major to tell you. You know Bruno Mars, right?"
"Yeah, about that actually..."
"No, for real! I met him outside Electric Auras at a street vendor and he even came to Cafe Amore and gave me his number and-"
"You're kidding, right? Amber, this is exactly what I wanted to talk to you about," he replies, concerned.
"Wait, what? How'd you know that I met Bruno Mars?" I ask curiously. How the hell did he know?
"Well, that Saturday night that I saw you at Electric Auras and you and Amari left, I actually went out for my break that same time to the street vendors right down the walkway from you-" he explains.
"Oh my gosh. Wait, how could you not wanna meet Bruno Mars?" I ask in disbelief.
"You do know I have an aunt who works in the music industry right?" He asks me.
"Yeah..." I start. Damn, I forgot.
"I saw the way Bruno was looking at you. Anyway, my aunt Marisa tells me about singers and their scandals. Believe me, Bruno Mars is not a saint. He's not someone you want to get involved with. You have no idea just how many affairs and drugs he's-" he begins.
"Oh come on, Charlie! Like you're any better? You literally slept with half the girls at Temple! Not to mention those times you've tried with me," I reply, getting a bit defensive.
"That's not the point here. I just don't want you getting hurt. The fact that he gave you his number that fast just says that he only wants you for your body," he begins.
"Charlie, get real. You're literally the biggest womanizer I know."
"I may be a womanizer, but I'm not a celebrity who is trying to have a one night stand with a normal citizen just because she has a hot bod," he begins.
"Excuse me?! Listen. I know you're trying to look out for me, but I can handle this on my own. Honest," I say.
"Okay, Amber. But don't say I didn't warn you. Oh, and he has a girlfriend," he begins.
