While I tried to sleep in on Saturday, Kiki bursted into my room and flopped onto my bed next to me. Opening my eyes to glare at her, she deadpanned back at me and said, "We're out of doughnuts."

"So?" I mumbled, closing my eyes and snuggling back into my pillow.

"The moms can't get them." She shook my shoulder annoyingly. "Pleeease?"

Opening my eyes, I chuckled through a sigh. I didn't have it in me to say no, especially since it felt like we were getting the old Kiki back. She'd only been to one therapy session, but she seemed to be doing better. It would take a lot of hard work, as well as a lot of bad days, to get her to where she wants to be, but it was worth it.

Asking for something as trivial as doughnuts wasn't something she ever did. If she wanted something, no one would know until she revealed it as if it was nothing, despite the fact she'd been holding it in for so long. With it being something as simple as doughnuts, I couldn't say no. I didn't want her to think that asking for something would always end up with us telling her no. It wouldn't always end up with us saying yes either, but I was worried even the smallest thing would cause her to coil back into herself.

As Kiki ran out of my room, I glanced at my clock. It was a little past nine, so it wasn't too bad. I still preferred to sleep in a little longer, but at least I'd have more time to freshen up before I met with Tylor. After a few weeks of planning and practicing, I finally had my surprise for Tylor ready. He'd always call me Quinny Bear, and soon, I'd be calling him my Honeybee.

After showering and getting dressed, I walked downstairs to the kitchen. I expected Kiki to be ready to go, but she was still in her pajamas, nursing a mug of tea. "Ready?"

She raised her eyebrow at me. "I'm not going."

Groaning, I placed my hands on my hips. "What do you mean, you're not going?"

"I have to wait for something to be dropped off, so I can't go. Why do you think I didn't walk myself?"

Most likely since the best doughnuts were on the other side of town, but it wasn't as if she hadn't biked there before. Not wanting to argue any longer, and not minding being by myself, I shook my head as I grabbed my car keys and left the house.

As I pulled into the driveway, I stared at the car parked in front of the house. That little sneak. I turned off my car, grabbed the box of doughnuts, and walked into the house. Both Kiki and Tylor turned their heads to the door and smirked when they saw me.

"Busted," Tylor sang under his breath as he lifted his mug up to his lips.

"Waiting for a package, huh?"

"I never said what it entailed," Kiki defended, sticking her nose in the air. "Besides, you get to see Tylor all the time when you're at school and after school and... other times. When do I get to see him?"

I couldn't have been mad at Kiki. She opened up to Tylor and felt safe enough to talk to us because of him. If she wanted to spend time with him, all she had to do was ask. Even though I hadn't told her we were dating yet, Tylor might have told her, and she found this to be the best way to talk to him alone for a bit. Honestly, it was clever.

"Don't be too mad at her," Tylor said as he placed the mug on the table. "I... sort of suggested she find a way to kick you out, since she wanted to talk."
