Charles:

The sun filtered through the large windows of Charles's study, casting warm rays on the bookshelves lined with well-worn volumes. Y/n sat cross-legged on the plush rug, her laptop perched on her lap. She had been researching something for class but found herself drawn to a different kind of browsing altogether—wedding rings.

As she clicked through various designs, her heart raced. Each ring seemed to whisper promises of love and commitment. Just as she settled on a stunning vintage-style ring adorned with delicate filigree, she heard the soft creak of the door.

"Y/n?" Charles's voice cut through her reverie. She quickly closed the laptop, but it was too late.

Charles stepped into the room, his brow arching in curiosity as he caught a glimpse of the shimmering ring on her screen. "Were you looking at rings?" He approached, his tone teasing yet laced with sincerity.

She bit her lip, a mix of embarrassment and excitement swirling within her. "Um, maybe?"

Charles chuckled, his blue eyes sparkling with warmth. "You know, I wouldn't mind if you were. In fact, I'd love it."

Her heart fluttered at his words. "Really? You wouldn't think it's too soon?"

"Y/n," he said, kneeling beside her, "the moment I met you, I knew you were the one I wanted to spend my life with. So if you're ready to talk about it, I am too."

She felt her cheeks heat up as she turned to face him fully. "I've been thinking about it a lot lately. About us."

Charles reached out, gently taking her hand in his, his thumb tracing over her knuckles. "I've thought about it too. More than I care to admit." His gaze was intense, conveying a depth of emotion that sent shivers down her spine.

"Do you have something in mind?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Actually, I do." He stood, walking over to a drawer and retrieving a small velvet box. Y/n's breath hitched in her throat as he opened it, revealing a stunning ring—a simple yet elegant band with a brilliant diamond at its center.

"I wanted to find the perfect ring for you," Charles said, his voice steady but his eyes betraying a hint of vulnerability. "Will you marry me, Y/n?"

Tears brimmed in her eyes as she nodded, a smile breaking across her face. "Yes! A thousand times, yes!"

Charles slipped the ring onto her finger, the fit perfect, as if it had been waiting for her all along. They embraced, the warmth of his body enveloping her, grounding her in the moment. As they pulled back, the world outside faded away, leaving only the two of them, their hearts beating in sync.

Erik:

The night was crisp, and Y/n stood on the balcony of the mansion, staring at the stars. She had spent the afternoon browsing wedding rings online, daydreaming about a future with Erik. Just as she pulled up a particularly striking design, she heard the door slide open.

"Lost in thought, Y/n?" Erik's voice was low and smooth as he joined her outside, his gaze instantly locking onto the screen of her phone.

She quickly closed it, feeling her cheeks flush. "Oh, just... browsing."

"Browsing what? I won't bite, I promise."

Y/n hesitated but eventually said, "I was looking at wedding rings."

"Wedding rings?" he repeated, a playful glint in his eye. "Is someone planning a big surprise?"

"Not really," she replied, biting her lip. "Just... thinking about us."
