You getting hurt

Charles:

It was one of those rare quiet afternoons at the mansion. The students were either studying or relaxing, and you were curled up in the library with a book, enjoying the peace. Charles had excused himself earlier to take care of some administrative work, leaving you to your own devices. You had just started getting lost in your novel when you heard his voice in your mind.

Y/N, would you mind coming to my study?

The request was gentle, but there was a hint of urgency that made you put your book down immediately. Charles rarely used his telepathy to call you unless something important had come up.

As you walked down the familiar halls, your mind wandered to all the possible reasons he could need you. By the time you reached his study, you were ready for anything. Or so you thought.

Charles looked up as you entered, his warm smile fading as his eyes narrowed slightly. "Close the door, please."

Confused, you did as he asked, closing the door behind you and stepping further into the room. "Charles, what's going on?"

Without a word, he motioned for you to come closer. You noticed his gaze was focused on your arm, specifically a bruise just below your elbow that you had gotten earlier that day. You hadn't thought much of it, but Charles' concern was unmistakable.

"I saw this earlier when you were reading," he said softly, his voice steady but with an undercurrent of worry. "What happened?"

"It's nothing," you assured him, sitting beside him and holding out your arm so he could see it better. "Just a training accident with Logan."

Charles' expression hardened slightly at the mention of Logan. He reached out, his fingers gently grazing the bruise, the tenderness in his touch making you realize just how protective he was. His telepathic abilities allowed him to sense not only your thoughts but also the emotions tied to the moment.

I felt your discomfort even if you tried to ignore it. His voice filled your mind, resonating with concern.

You smiled gently, knowing how much he cared. "It was really just a sparring session that got a little rough. You know Logan—it's part of his charm."

His lips twitched into a small smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. "I understand, but it still pains me to know you're hurt, even in the smallest way. I know how careful you are."

There was a moment of silence between you as he continued to gently stroke the bruised skin. Would you allow me to help?

Before you could ask what he meant, you felt a cool, soothing sensation wash over the area. It wasn't exactly healing, but it was calming, and you knew it was Charles using his telepathy to ease the pain you hadn't even realized was there.

You sighed softly, the tension in your muscles releasing as his calming influence spread through your mind. "You always know just what to do."

He smiled, the worry finally ebbing from his expression. "Only for you, my love."

Erik:

You had never seen Erik so angry. His temper was infamous, but today was different. His fury wasn't directed at some grand injustice or a political cause—it was because of you.

You had decided to surprise him by visiting the Brotherhood's headquarters, not knowing what would happen. When you walked in, the tension was palpable. As you made your way through the halls, you overheard a few unfamiliar voices—a group of mutants Erik had been dealing with. They looked at you with disdain, and you could feel their judgment in every glance.
