As soon as Paige woke up in the familiar room she wished she never entered again, she was out. She had slipped out from beside a sleeping Ana, grabbed her clothes and phone and immediately left the dorm complex.
The whole walk back to her dorm room was filled with her thoughts—again. She felt an overwhelming sense of guilt settled heavily on her chest. Everything that happened last night was not supposed to happen. She wished she could go back in time and redo everything that happened. Fix her mistake.
She tried telling herself that she and Azalea weren't together, that they both could see whoever they wanted, yet nothing helped. She still felt guilty and that guilt only increased once she saw the caring and sweet messages Azalea had sent her at three in the morning. Just the thought of Azalea awake that late at night knowing that she never wakes up or goes to sleep that late, sent a pang of guilt to her chest. She had to find out in the group chat that Paige was out, had left with some other girl and that just made her feel worse.
Paige didn't want Azalea to think that she was playing with her, or that she was simply some other girl—because she wasn't, not to Paige. Azalea wasn't another girl Paige wanted to hookup with. Although the thought of hooking up with her wasn't totally a bad thought, but she actually wanted to know Azalea. But still, she didn't even want to hookup with another girl, she didn't want to kiss or touch another girl. She wanted to be able to kiss Azalea whenever she wanted to, she wanted to touch or hold Azalea, not some girl.
Last night was a drunken mistake. A mistake she wished she could take back.
As she arrived at the student athlete floor she stayed at with her team, Paige took a deep breath before walking into the common room. Immediately she spotted a few of them who had probably stayed sober at the party and had probably been awake for a while now. She tried to silently make her way to her room but Allie had called her out.
