Chapter Four!
real life.

Her.

It was the only thing running through Paige's mind right now. It was the only thing she could think of. The moment she saw her it felt like gravity shifted. Her world tilted, narrowing to the single point where their eyes met. Where those blue eyes shifted towards her own and looked up at her. She, the most beautiful woman she'd ever seen, was looking at Paige and Paige immediately forgot how to breathe. She felt an overwhelming sense of calm as she looked into her soft eyes. She almost felt unworthy of looking at her, of their eyes being on each other's. Azalea was so effortlessly beautiful.

The world around her stopped, and Paige forgot about the fact that her teammates were still there. It felt as if she had been struck, but not by a force—by a warmth, a pull that wrapped itself around her heart and held her still. Her heart, once steady and reliable, now thudded against her ribcage like it had come alive just for this moment, as if it had been waiting, waiting for her. This had never happened to her, never. Never with any of the girls she's been with, girls she's met, none of them had made her feel this kind of way.

She had never been like this. Paige was confident and used to being in control. Her confidence was effortless, a second skin she wore like an armor and in every crowded room, every place she went, she knew exactly who she was. Love, attachment, anything in that topic—she dismissed it all. But of course, she felt all that get thrown right out the window as she looked at Azalea. Her eyes, her face, her lips, her long braids—God— everything about her.

Paige was so entranced by Azalea's beauty and everything about her that she didn't even notice Azalea holding her hand out her, or how she already introduced herself. And she definitely didn't noticed the looks that KK, Ice, Azzi and Jana were giving her, all with knowing smirks on their faces. Morgan and Sarah were honestly just slightly concerned for the senior they looked up to. Aubrey though, looked at Paige wondering what in the hell happened to her and why she hasn't looked away from her sister or the fact that Azalea's hand was hanging in the air for Paige to shake.

"Paige." Aubrey's stern voice shook Paige out of her trance.

Blinking once or twice, Paige reluctantly looked away from Azalea towards Aubrey. "Hm?"

Aubrey looked down at Azalea's hand, before looking back up at Paige raising her eyebrows. Her face screaming at Paige to not leave her sister hanging.

Realizing her mistake, Paige's cheeks flushed slightly in embarrassment as she looked back at Azalea who was beginning to lower her hand. Not letting her do so, Paige reached out and gently held her hand, shaking it slightly. Immediately, Paige couldn't help but notice how perfectly their hands fit together and how soft Azalea's skin was. She almost melted at just the slightest touch.
