Chapter Fourteen!
real life.As they arrived at Azalea's apartment, Azalea immediately walked over to the couch, plopping down on her stomach as she pulled one the pillows to her chest. Paige watched from the entrance, closing the door behind her and making sure to take her shoes off. With already being comfortable around Azalea and used to being in her house, she walked over to the pantry, immediately looking for something to eat.
Azalea laid the pillow under her head, closing her eyes as she felt the day's exhaustion began to fall down on her. It wasn't really late but it was definitely past the time Azalea usually fell asleep at. She'd usually be asleep already by nine and it was already eleven. She could hear Paige running through her pantry, which was a normal thing now considering Paige ate as if she hadn't been fed in years.
Her ears slightly ached from having wore her hearing aids the whole day. Whenever she wore her hearing aids for many hours without taking them off in between, her ears would slightly start aching from the familiar weight of the aids on her ear. But Paige was staying the night and if they spent a few more hours awake, she knew she'd have to keep them on. Of course, Paige knew a little bit more of ASL as Azalea kept teaching her, but it still wasn't very fluent. And Paige was more than willing to keep learning because she wanted to be able to talk to Azalea when she didn't have her hearing aids on.
Walking over to the living room, Paige held a Chips Ahoy of the chewy ones that came in the red pack, and slightly lifted Azalea legs before sitting down and letting her legs rest on her thighs. She then placed the pack on Azalea's legs, using them as a small holding stand for the cookies, and reaching over to grab the remote from the coffee table. She scrolled a little through the movies, not knowing what to watch.
"Faye?" She softly said, looking down at Azalea who was laying on her stomach with her arms under her head.
"Hmm?"
"What do you wanna watch?"
"Coraline." Azalea mumbled with no hesitation. It was her go to movie for when she was tired, sad, bored, needed something to binge watch, background noise, and everything in between.
Paige shook her head knowing she'd say that. At this point, she didn't even know why she asked. She asked only to receive the same answer every time. Grabbing another cookie, Paige looked for the movie and once she found it, she put it on, placing the remote controller back on the coffee table.
Throughout the movie, Azalea muttered every other line, practically knowing everything that was going to be said and when. She had also shifted positions, know laying her head on Paige's lap, once and awhile grabbing a cookie from the coffee table where it sat. Paige opted to run her fingers through Azalea's curls which only made Azalea more tired than she already was.
