Chapter Eighteen! real life + social media
Today was the girls media day for the women basketball team. Now, while the girls were at the UConn facility doing photo shoots with the team and having interviews, Kayla and Azalea were at the beach. One thing about the two of them is that the beach was practically their second home. They loved it. And since it was starting to get colder in Connecticut, they wanted to take one last trip to their favorite spot on the beach.
Plus, last night everyone was gathered in Azalea's apartment with Kayla and Azalea doing the girls braids for today. They had stayed up pretty late making sure the girls looked good and ready for the pictures, so they knew that they should reward themselves with a trip and girls day.
They had stopped by target to get some snacks and they also decided to get some canvases and paint to make some paintings with seashells that they'd found on the beach. It was a very pleasantly aesthetically looking set up that they had, with the beach in the view and the little picnic set up. It screamed 'I'm just a girl' and they embraced every second.
Obviously, they brought cameras because one thing about Azalea is that she took pictures of everything. She always carried a small camera in her purse or tote bags and if she did forget to pack it—which was rarely—she'd simply use her phone. So with the sound of the waves in the background, Kayla and Azalea talking, laughing and painting, nothing else could bring them out of their small little world of existence.
"If you had to choose between Paige and Aubrey, who would you choose?" Kayla randomly asked, taking a bite of the chips, looking at Azalea with raised eyebrows.
"What?" Azalea asked incredulously, laughing at her words.
"If you have to pick, who'd you choose?" Kayla asked again, shrugging her shoulders.
"It's giving Vi having to choose between Cait and Jinx." Azalea mumbles, shaking her head.
"..huh?" Kayla said, looking at Azalea has if she had grown two heads. Azalea only looked back at her as if she had grown two heads.
"Vi? Caitlyn? Jinx?"
"What language are you speaking right now?"
"Uneducated. Uncultured." Azalea scoffed, taking a chip from Kayla's bag.
"Bro, just answer the question!"
Azalea pretended to think about it for a moment before a large smile popped up on her lips. "Ellie Williams. I'd choose her."
Kayla thought about it for a moment before she nodded her head, a smile planted on her lips. "Valid, valid."
