Chapter Thirty Seven! real life + messages + social media
"Nika!"
Azalea's excited voice sounded as she smiled widely as she saw the girl she missed so dearly. She closed the door behind her, walking past Paige almost as if she wasn't there.
"Azalea!" Nika laughed, her own excitement matching Azalea's as they both walked into each other's arms, hugging each other tightly.
Azalea groaned excitedly, hugging her impossibly closer and they gently swayed side to side. "I thought I'd literally never see you again." She said, pulling back and placing her hands on Nika's shoulders. "And look at you!" She exclaimed, her hands coming to rest on either side of Nika's face as she took her in.
Nika only smiled wider, puckering her lips as she playfully posed. Azalea only laughed, pulling Nika into another hug. "You look so beautiful! I swear you get more pretty each time I see you." Azalea said into her shoulder.
"Me?" Nika said, this time being the one to pull away. Grabbing Azalea's hand, she spun her around, playing hyping her up. "Look at you! My baby's growing up." She sighed, dramatically pouting her lips into an exaggerated frown.
Azalea only smiled shyly, rolling her eyes in mock exasperation.
"Did I just lose my girlfriend?" Paige's voice interrupted their moment causing them to turn to face her.
Aubrey walked past, pursing her lips as she sympathetically patted her shoulder. "You'll get her back soon." She muttered, walking past her.
Nika playfully gave Paige a stank look, wrapping an arm around Azalea's shoulder. "Aza was mine before you came along and stole her from me." Nika scoffed, looking Paige up and down.
Paige rolled her eyes, though a small was on her lips. "She didn't stay though. She came willingly and it's very clear which one of us is the better one." Paige shrugged, her eyes darting back over to Azalea. "Right, Faye?"
Azalea looked away, her eyes falling on Morgan before she gasped dramatically. "Oh my gosh, Morgie! I did not see you there." She said, walking away from the two and going to the freshman who was sitting on one of the barstools.
Paige turned to Nika, giving her a side eye. "Look what you did." She said.
Nika only smiled innocently, raising her finger and flicking her off.
Soon enough, everyone settled down, falling into their own conversation with each other. Azalea sat at the barstools with Azzi, Caroline and Kaitlyn, talking amongst themselves.
