The Three Lists

The morning sunlight filtered through Harry's flat, illuminating the scattered parchment on his desk. His quill scratched steadily as he worked, scribbling down thoughts and plans that had kept him awake for most of the night. Three lists lay before him, each carefully tailored to one of his new allies.

Harry leaned back in his chair, rubbing his tired eyes. These lists weren't just tasks—they were foundations for survival. He had to trust that Neville, Luna, and Draco would rise to the occasion. The future depended on it.

The First List: Neville

Harry picked up the first piece of parchment, reading over the bullet points he'd drafted for Neville. Each item revolved around Neville's passion for herbology.

Transfer Neville's personal greenhouses to Hogwarts.Expand Hogwarts greenhouses to grow more food and magical plants.Research plants that could survive the cold.Focus on plants for food, healing, and magical defenses.

Satisfied, Harry folded the parchment and tapped his wand against it. A faint green glow sealed the list with Neville's name.

"Right, that's one down," Harry muttered. "Let's hope Neville doesn't mind packing up his garden."

The Second List: Luna

Next, Harry turned to Luna's list. He paused for a moment, considering her unique perspective. Luna had always seen the magical world in a way no one else could, and that gave her an edge when it came to creatures.

Harry wrote carefully, making sure to keep the tone optimistic and open-ended.

Speak to magical creatures about joining our efforts.Prioritize creatures with unique skills or survival abilities.Build relationships with local creature groups (centaurs, hippogriffs, etc.).Research how to safely house creatures within the dome.

He smiled as he added one more line:

Keep an eye out for anything unusual—I trust your instincts.

Once finished, he sealed the parchment with a soft blue glow and set it aside.

"Luna will love this," Harry said to himself. "She'll probably come back with a pack of Nargles or something, but she'll get results."

The Third List: Draco

The last list was the trickiest. Draco's role required discretion and resourcefulness, qualities Harry knew the former Slytherin possessed in spades. He tapped his quill against the desk, thinking carefully before he began writing.

Contact discreet allies to gather supplies (food, clothing, tools).Look for magical artifacts or tomes related to survival or protection.Focus on wizards and witches with resources but no Ministry ties.Keep everything quiet—no unnecessary attention.

Harry hesitated, then added:

Let me know if you hear anything suspicious about the Ministry or other factions.

He sealed the parchment with a flick of his wand, the golden glow reflecting his hopes that Draco wouldn't disappoint him.

"That's all of them," Harry said, leaning back in his chair. He stared at the lists for a moment, then grabbed his wand and cast a quick charm. Each parchment vanished, delivered to its intended recipient.

Responses Begin

Within an hour, Neville's response came through. A small scroll of parchment appeared on Harry's desk, tied with a piece of garden twine. Harry unrolled it eagerly.

Harry,
The greenhouses are yours. It'll take me a few days to disassemble and transport them, but I'll get started right away. I'll also talk to Professor Sprout—she'll know how to expand the Hogwarts greenhouses safely.
Neville

Harry grinned. He knew Neville would come through.

Luna's reply came next, delivered by an owl with shimmering feathers. Her parchment was decorated with tiny doodles of creatures Harry couldn't identify.

Dear Harry,
What a marvelous idea! I've already spoken to the Thestrals—they're quite eager to help. I'll reach out to the hippogriffs next, and I'm planning a visit to the acromantulas (don't worry, I'll bring snacks). I'll keep my eyes open for any new allies.
P.S. Have you considered adding Snorkacks to the dome? They're incredibly resilient.
Love, Luna

Harry chuckled, shaking his head. "Of course she'd bring up Snorkacks."

Draco's reply came last, delivered by a sleek black owl with piercing eyes. The parchment was neat and formal, but Harry could practically hear Draco's voice in the words.

Potter,
I've reached out to a few contacts already. Most are intrigued but wary—I'll need time to convince them. Supplies will be trickling in over the next few weeks, but I'll let you know if anyone gets nosy.
On the Ministry: I've heard whispers of new policies being drafted around magical land use. I'll dig deeper.
Draco

Harry nodded. It was a promising start.

A Late-Night Visitor

Just as Harry was about to call it a day, there was a knock at his door. He frowned, reaching for his wand before approaching cautiously.

"It's Neville," came a muffled voice.

Harry opened the door to find Neville standing there, a folded piece of parchment in his hand.

"I figured it'd be easier to talk in person," Neville said, stepping inside.

"Come on in," Harry said, closing the door behind him.

Neville held up the parchment. "I've already started organizing the plants I'll bring to Hogwarts, but there's something else we need to consider—animals."

"Animals?"

"For farming," Neville explained. "If we're serious about surviving long-term, we'll need livestock: chickens, cows, sheep, maybe even goats. Luna can handle the magical creatures, but someone has to manage the mundane ones."

Harry blinked, impressed. "You're right. I hadn't even thought about that."

Neville smiled sheepishly. "I'll see what I can do. Maybe I can set up a small pasture near the greenhouses."

"That'd be brilliant," Harry said. "Thanks, Neville. You're really stepping up."

Neville shrugged. "This is important, Harry. We all have to do our part."

The Night Ends

After Neville left, Harry sat back down at his desk, adding a few new notes to his plans. The pieces were falling into place, and for the first time in months, he felt a glimmer of hope.

As he climbed into bed, he thought about the team he was building—Neville with his plants, Luna with her creatures, and Draco with his cunning. They were an unlikely group, but they were united by a shared goal.

This time, Harry thought, as sleep claimed him, we're going to make it.
