Harry stood in the main hall of the Nigrum Anima building, watching as a team of explorers returned from their latest mission. The group looked tired but triumphant, their backpacks bulging with items they'd collected from the dungeon they had just cleared.
As they unloaded their findings onto the long sorting tables, Harry noticed something unusual. Unlike the varied treasures typically brought back from the Black Tower, these items were strikingly uniform—an array of gleaming, pearlescent shells, each radiating faint magical energy.
"Shells?" Harry asked, stepping closer.
One of the team members, a Muggle woman named Clara, nodded. "The whole dungeon was filled with them. On the walls, the floors, even growing out of the ceilings. It was like being inside a giant, magical tidepool."
Examining the Shells
Harry picked up one of the shells, its surface smooth and iridescent. A faint hum of magic vibrated through his fingertips.
"They're not just decorative," Neville said, joining him. He cast a quick diagnostic spell over one of the larger shells. "There's magic inside them. Nature-based, maybe tied to water."
Luna wandered over, holding a particularly large shell that shimmered with hues of blue and silver. "They're alive, in a way. Connected to the dungeon, but also independent. I think they're protective—meant to shield or ward off harm."
Draco smirked, inspecting a smaller shell. "Well, they certainly make for a unique find. What are you going to do with them, Potter? Start a magical jewelry business?"
Harry chuckled. "Not quite. Let's focus on figuring out what they do first."
The Dungeon's Abundance
As the team continued unpacking, Harry realized this wasn't the first time a dungeon had yielded an abundance of a specific resource.
The Black Tower had been rich in crystals, providing everything from Shadowsteel to Frostveil Shards. Another dungeon in Scotland had been filled with enchanted moss, which now flourished in Neville's greenhouses.
"This is becoming a pattern," Harry said, addressing the group. "Each dungeon we've explored seems to have an abundance of something unique. Crystals in the Black Tower, moss in Scotland, and now magical shells here."
Clara nodded. "It's almost like each dungeon is... specialized. Like they're designed to produce one type of resource in large quantities."
Draco raised an eyebrow. "If that's true, then clearing these dungeons isn't just about survival. It's about gathering resources. They're practically treasure troves."
Cataloging the Finds
Harry instructed Percy to start a new section in the sanctuary's master notebook, dedicated to cataloging the resources found in each dungeon.
Black Tower (England): Crystals of all types, including Core Crystals and Ranking Crystals.
The Moss Hollow (Scotland): Enchanted moss with healing and restorative properties.
Shell Cavern (Wales): Magical shells tied to water and protection magic."We'll need to keep track of this," Harry said. "If each dungeon is tied to a specific resource, it could change how we approach them. Some might be worth exploring just for what they can offer."
Neville looked up from a smaller shell he was studying. "These shells could be incredibly valuable for enchanting. If we can figure out how to use them, they might even be a new type of defensive charm."
Luna nodded. "Or armor. They feel sturdy, like they could withstand a lot."
The Bigger Picture
Later that evening, Harry gathered his core team in the strategy room to discuss the implications of these discoveries.
"This pattern isn't random," Harry said, pacing in front of the map of the UK, where several dungeons were marked. "It's almost like the dungeons are part of a system—a network designed to provide resources for whoever can claim them."
Draco leaned back in his chair, smirking. "A generous system, if you're strong enough to survive it."
"Or a test," Luna said softly. "The dungeons aren't just giving—they're watching. Waiting to see who rises to the challenge."
Neville frowned. "But who—or what—is behind them? And why now?"
Harry stopped pacing, his gaze fixed on the map. "I don't know. But if we keep exploring, I think we'll find answers. For now, let's focus on cataloging what we've found and sharing it with the other sanctuaries."
A Letter to the Leaders
That night, Harry penned another letter to the sanctuary leaders, detailing the resources discovered in the dungeons.
"The pattern is clear: each dungeon is tied to a specific resource. If we work together to explore and share what we find, it could benefit all our sanctuaries. Let me know if you've noticed similar patterns in your regions."
As he sealed the letter and sent it off, Harry felt a growing sense of purpose. The dungeons weren't just challenges—they were opportunities.
And if they could unlock the secrets within them, they might not only survive the next few years but emerge stronger than ever.
