The Spark of an Idea

The soft morning light filtered through the windows of Harry's flat as he sat at his desk, reviewing maps and notes. The pages were filled with plans for the dome and sketches of shelters for magical creatures. Despite the progress they'd made, something still nagged at him.

He tapped his quill against the table, staring at Luna's drawings of creature habitats. The pens, groves, and enclosures they'd planned were functional, but they didn't feel... complete. Some creatures would need more than open spaces and fences, especially when the freeze hit.

Harry leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. His mind wandered, and suddenly, an old memory surfaced.

The Zoo

It had been one of the few happy moments of his childhood. He was eleven years old, and the Dursleys had begrudgingly taken him along to the zoo. Harry remembered walking through the halls, staring at the glass enclosures, each one designed to replicate the natural habitat of its inhabitants.

One memory in particular stood out: the snake.

He could still picture the serpent slithering along its enclosure, its dark eyes meeting his. Harry had felt an inexplicable connection in that moment, and before he knew it, he'd done something extraordinary—he'd set the snake free.

The memory brought a faint smile to his lips. For the first time, he had realized he was capable of something beyond the ordinary.

The Idea

Suddenly, it hit him.

"A zoo," Harry whispered to himself, sitting up straight. "Or... something like it."

Why hadn't he thought of it before? Instead of building scattered pens and enclosures across the grounds, they could create a central building—or even a series of buildings—specifically designed to house magical creatures. Each room could mimic the natural habitat of a different creature, with controlled temperatures and environments tailored to their needs.

It was perfect.

Harry grabbed a fresh piece of parchment and began sketching furiously. The building would need multiple sections, each one equipped with advanced charms to regulate temperature, humidity, and light. He labeled each area: one for Thestrals, another for Hippogriffs, a shaded grove for Bowtruckles, and even a subterranean space for creatures like Acromantulas.

"This could work," Harry said, excitement rising in his chest.

Getting Started

Harry wasted no time. He Apparated to Hogsmeade and made his way to the construction site where Grintok and his goblin team were already at work.

"Grintok!" Harry called, waving the goblin over.

Grintok approached, his ever-present clipboard in hand. "Mr. Potter. What brings you here so early?"

"I have a new project for you," Harry said, holding out his sketches.

Grintok scanned the drawings, his sharp eyes narrowing as he studied the design. "A central building for creature habitats," he muttered. "Ambitious. Each room requiring independent environmental controls... this won't be easy."

"I know," Harry said. "But it's necessary. Some creatures won't survive the freeze unless we give them exactly what they need."

Grintok tapped his quill against the clipboard, considering. "We'll need to expand the workforce for something of this scale. And you'll need specialists—wizards and witches who know these creatures inside and out."

"I'll handle the specialists," Harry said firmly. "Can you get started on the structure?"

Grintok smirked. "We goblins have built fortresses and vaults for centuries. This will be a challenge, but we'll manage."

"Thank you," Harry said, relief washing over him.

Gathering Resources

Next, Harry made his way to Neville, who was busy planting Frostbane Ferns in the greenhouses.

"Neville!" Harry called, jogging up to him.

Neville looked up, wiping sweat from his brow. "Harry! What's going on?"

"I need your help," Harry said, handing Neville the sketches.

Neville studied them, his brow furrowing. "A building for creature habitats... this is brilliant, Harry. But you'll need plants to match each environment."

"Exactly," Harry said. "Can you start gathering what we'll need? Jungle plants for tropical habitats, sturdy trees for the Bowtruckles, that sort of thing."

Neville nodded eagerly. "Leave it to me. I'll make a list and get started right away."

Consulting Luna and Hagrid

Harry's next stop was the Forbidden Forest, where he found Luna and Hagrid discussing the placement of creature shelters.

"A building for habitats?" Luna said, her eyes lighting up as Harry explained the idea. "That's wonderful, Harry. The creatures will love it."

"It'll be more than a shelter," Harry said. "Each room will feel like home to them."

Hagrid beamed. "Yer thinkin' smart, Harry. This'll make a world o' difference. I'll help ya gather the creatures once it's ready."

Laying the Foundation

By the end of the day, Harry stood at the construction site with Grintok, watching as the goblins began laying the foundation for the new building. The air buzzed with magic as enchanted tools carved stone and erected walls with precision.

Harry's heart swelled with hope. This project wasn't just about survival—it was about creating a future where magical creatures and wizards could thrive together.

"This is it," Harry said quietly to himself, watching the progress. "We're building something that matters."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Harry stayed to oversee the work, determination etched into his face. The freeze was coming, but they were getting closer to being ready.

And Harry wouldn't stop until every creature and every person under the dome was safe.
