The new neighborhood had quickly become a bustling hub within the dome. Houses and townhouses lined the streets, each filled with families and groups of survivors. Gardens were flourishing, children played in the communal areas, and for the first time in months, laughter was beginning to feel like a normal sound.
Amidst this newfound sense of community, Fred and George Weasley were scheming.
The twins had been spending their days helping out in various parts of the dome, from creature habitats to ration distribution, but it was clear to anyone who knew them that they were itching to do something bigger.
One morning, as Harry was reviewing plans for the next phase of construction, Fred and George burst into the Great Hall, grinning like schoolboys with a prank to pull.
"Harrykins!" Fred announced, throwing an arm around Harry's shoulders.
"We've had the most brilliant idea," George added, sliding into the seat beside him.
Harry sighed, though a small smile crept onto his face. "What is it now?"
"We're reopening the shop," Fred declared, his eyes gleaming.
"In the dome!" George finished, holding out a rolled-up parchment.
Harry blinked. "You want to open Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes... here?"
"Why not?" Fred asked, unrolling the parchment to reveal a detailed sketch of their storefront. "The dome's magic protects us, and people need a bit of fun, don't they?"
"Laughter is a vital resource," George added sagely.
Pitching the Idea
By the time Harry called a meeting, the twins had already mapped out their plans. The Great Hall was filled with curious faces as Fred and George stood at the front, their sketch pinned to the wall behind them.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Fred began, spreading his arms dramatically.
"And goblins," George added with a nod to Grintok.
Fred grinned. "Welcome to the future site of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes—Dome Edition!"
There were murmurs of interest and a few chuckles. Even Percy, who had initially frowned at the idea, looked mildly amused.
"We know what you're thinking," George said, pacing in front of the group. "Why open a joke shop in the middle of a frozen apocalypse?"
"Because we all need a bit of laughter," Fred answered, "and a sense of normalcy. Life inside the dome is about survival, yes—but it's also about living."
Draco raised an eyebrow. "And how, exactly, do you plan to stock this shop of yours?"
"Ah, excellent question!" Fred said, pointing to him. "We've already been scouring the dome for ingredients. With Neville's help, we've identified plants in the greenhouses that can replace some of the rarer components we used to rely on."
"And we've got the skill," George added. "Our hands may be cold, but our genius burns hot."
Laughter rippled through the group, and even Harry found himself grinning.
Approval and Inspiration
By the end of the meeting, the twins had won over the room.
Harry gave them a nod. "Alright. You have my approval—on one condition. You need to set up a small section for practical items, too. Emergency charms, protective trinkets, things like that."
Fred and George exchanged a glance.
"Deal," Fred said, extending a hand.
"Consider it done," George added, shaking Harry's hand with enthusiasm.
As word of the shop spread, excitement began to ripple through the sanctuary. But more importantly, Fred and George's decision sparked something new: inspiration.
The Birth of a Marketplace
Within days, others began approaching Harry and Percy with their own ideas.
"I used to bake," said a young woman named Clara. "If I had the right equipment, I could open a bakery."
"I'm a seamstress," an older wizard offered. "People are going to need proper clothes for winter, even here in the dome."
"I was a blacksmith," said a Muggle man named Daniel. "With the right tools, I could make things—tools, household items, even weapons if needed."
Harry listened to each idea, his heart swelling with pride at the creativity and determination of the sanctuary's residents.
"This is what we need," Percy said one evening as he and Harry reviewed the growing list of proposals. "People aren't just surviving anymore—they're starting to live again."
Setting Up the Shops
Fred and George's shop was the first to take shape, their bright and quirky signage drawing smiles from everyone who passed by. Inside, shelves were already filling with products—some familiar, like Extendable Ears and Pygmy Puff plushies, and others newly invented for the dome, like Frost Ward Charms and Heat Boosters.
Next came Clara's bakery, the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries wafting through the neighborhood.
The seamstress set up shop next door, her enchanted sewing needles darting through fabric as she worked on custom orders.
Daniel's forge was established near the outskirts of the dome, where he could work safely with fire and metal. His creations—everything from cooking utensils to sturdy tools—quickly became essential items for many residents.
A Thriving Community
Within weeks, the new businesses transformed the sanctuary. What had once been a collection of houses and greenhouses now felt like a true community, bustling with life and purpose.
Harry stood in the center of the new marketplace one evening, watching as families strolled between the shops. Children laughed as Fred and George demonstrated a new product, while others lingered near the bakery, savoring the smell of freshly baked treats.
Luna appeared at his side, her gaze dreamy but focused. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" she said softly.
Harry nodded. "It is. This is exactly what we needed."
"They're building more than shops," Luna continued. "They're building hope."
As the dome shimmered in the twilight, Harry felt a rare sense of peace. The frost was still out there, but inside the dome, life was flourishing.
And no matter what challenges lay ahead, Harry knew they would face them together.
