The jagged, dark crystal sat on Harry's desk, its sharp edges glinting faintly in the candlelight. Unlike the other crystals, which radiated clarity and purpose, this one seemed to pulse with a strange, foreboding energy.

Harry stared at it, his brow furrowed. "What are you?" he muttered under his breath.

The crystal didn't respond, of course, but its faint hum seemed to deepen, as if acknowledging his attention.

The Team Gathers

Not long after, Harry called for his closest team: Luna, Neville, Draco, Fred, George, and Percy. They filed into the room one by one, their expressions ranging from curious to concerned.

"What's this about, Harry?" Draco asked, eyeing the dark crystal with suspicion.

Harry gestured toward the object. "This crystal isn't like the others we've found in the Black Tower. It's... different. And I have a feeling it's important, but I don't know why."

Fred leaned closer, his face alight with curiosity. "Looks like it could cut through steel. Think it's a weapon?"

"Or a trap," Draco said flatly.

Luna tilted her head, her dreamy expression turning serious as she stepped closer. "It feels alive," she said softly. "Not like the Core Crystals, but... aware."

"That's what worries me," Harry admitted. "I need all of you to help me figure out what it is—and if it's dangerous."

Studying the Crystal

The group divided into roles, each focusing on a different method of analysis:

Neville inspected the crystal's physical properties, carefully testing its weight, density, and texture.Luna performed a series of magical diagnostic spells, searching for clues in its energy signature.Fred and George examined it for potential as a tool or weapon, using enchanted tools to test its reaction to force and motion.Draco and Percy studied it from a strategic perspective, comparing its magical resonance to other samples from the Black Tower.

Hours passed as they worked, the crystal remaining stubbornly enigmatic.

A Revelation

It wasn't until Luna cast a particularly intricate spell that the crystal reacted. A faint black mist seeped from its surface, swirling in the air like smoke.

Everyone froze.

"What was that?" Fred asked, taking a cautious step back.

Luna's eyes widened. "It's... showing us something."

The mist began to coalesce, forming vague shapes—jagged spires, shadowy figures, and a swirling vortex of energy that pulsed ominously.

Harry stepped forward, his voice steady despite the unease in the room. "It's connected to the Black Tower. It's trying to tell us something about what's inside."

Draco crossed his arms, his expression skeptical. "Or it's trying to manipulate us. You can't trust anything that comes out of that place."

"Maybe," Harry said, his eyes locked on the swirling mist. "But we can't ignore it, either."

The Crystal's Warning

As the mist faded, the crystal began to glow faintly, its hum growing louder. Percy leaned closer, his brow furrowing. "I think it's reacting to you, Harry."

Harry hesitated, then placed his hand on the crystal's surface.

The moment he made contact, a sharp jolt of energy coursed through him. Images flooded his mind—visions of the Black Tower, its endless corridors, and a central chamber filled with shifting light and shadow.

And then a voice, faint and distant:

"The heart of the frost lies within... but beware the cost."

Harry pulled his hand back, breathing heavily as the glow of the crystal faded.

"What happened?" Neville asked, his voice full of concern.

Harry looked up, his expression grim. "It's a warning. The frost isn't just spreading—it's coming from the tower. And if we want to stop it, we'll have to go deeper than ever before."

End of the Chapter

As the group exchanged uneasy glances, the dark crystal sat silently on the desk, its purpose revealed but its mysteries far from solved.

The path to ending the frost had become clearer—but so had the dangers that lay ahead.
