The next morning things got even weirder. Three new bodyguard stood posted around me as I had breakfast. The whole house had them patrolling through it all.

Jeffrey followed me where ever I went in the freaking house! Travis didn't come back last night and I was tired of being treated like a living doll!

I decided to go out and take in the city. Three cars followed us behind as we drove down the streets, I glanced back at them and let out a frustrated sigh.

What's going on?

While I had lunch with myself, they were posted round the restaurant with Jeffrey behind me. When I got out, I got flooded by paparazzi. Everything about this day was too interactive, I didn't like it.

I liked my own company, I was used to my own self. I have always been an island and I've loved it but now I felt crowded.

I stopped at a galleria and spent my whole afternoon there. The Mayor's birthday was today and I wished I was back home, it was better than being here.

Than being alone here.

The Alpha Uprising event was tomorrow, so I can't blame him for being so busy but what was up with this security? I do need protection but not this much!

I arrived and discovered he had finally returned. He was in the study with few other people, they were brainstorming on whatever they had going on. The door was pulled open and I stepped in.

"The dinner this evening with the Castile, should I post pone it?" Harrison inquired and his gaze settled on mine, as he blew out the smoke from the cigar.

"No"

He nodded and got up, turning back to saw me. "Good evening, Mrs Ferrari" he greeted and I only shot him a nod then he headed out.

Travis gave signals to the others before getting up and walking to me as I stood rooted at that spot.

I crossed my hand over my chest and he leaned down and placed a kiss on my cheek to fulfill all righteousness. "Is there any problem?" He asked

"There is. This morning I woke up and discovered more than 30 security guards around the house" I mentioned.

"I tightened the security "

"Why?"

"For safety "

"What made you think I'll need more of those guys? Jeffrey is already too much for me and now I have even more people following me around?"

"We've talked about th-"

"Did we?" I cut him off. He sighed, going to ash the cigarette on the tray before walking back to me "My love..." He began

You gotta be kidding me.

"I understand that having security can feel uncomfortable and restrictive at times. I know you value your privacy and freedom, and I promise you that their presence is solely to protect you, which is my top priority. These men are highly trained professionals who are here to ensure your safety and well-being"

He then smiled and gently moved my hair from my face. "Just let them do their job keeping you safe...for me"

How manipulative can this asshole be?

I scoffed in disbelief. "Now go put on something hot, we are going out for dinner" he urged before his phone began ringing, he went back to the table while I still stood there in disbelief. Is he for real?
