I put the other earring in and stepped back to take in my reflection in the mirror. My hair was in a slick bun and I had light make up on.
It was the night of the Sienna ball.
I was in a nude coloured silk dress with a slip neckline and an open back, my hair in a neat bun.
I sat on the bed and put on the black strapless heels, I grabbed my purse beside and sighed.
I was ready, so i headed out of my room.
I checked the silver purse if it contained everything I needed as I got down the stairs. I looked down to see Travis standing by the glass walls.
His eyes locked with mine, I smiled and completed the last steps. He got back from Malta yesterday, he kept his words.
For tonight, he was in black pants and black long sleeve with the black blazer jacket over it.
Hmm, he clean up nice himself.
"I'm ready" I informed the obvious, he picked up his keys before heading out and I followed behind.
We both got into the car, he was driving. I leaned back and buckled my seatbelt before he drove out of the surrounding.
The ride was silent, I looked away from the window and back at him, he had his eyes dead set on the road and one hand on the sterring wheel.
"You know..." I turned to him. "You won't die if you compliment me"
He glanced at me. "What?"
"Travis, it will be gentlemanly of you to just say you look good" I broadened, he smirked and looked back at the road.
"What are you waiting for? Say it" I urged.
"Wouldn't it mean more if I said it in my own terms?" he asked. "In your context, it will mean more if you pretend, you're a pro at that "
"You know you look good" he probed and a smile tugged at my lips as I turned back to the window.
We arrived the event and I was conflicted to see a bazillion reporters outside. Must they be at every event?
We stopped right in front of the building and the door was pulled open, I stepped out and Travis appeared beside me, as we headed up the stairs, we were badgered by reporters.
Travis had a firm grip on my waist, keeping me safe from the chaos. We got through the double doors and into the building. Taking a left, we encountered another entrance.
Once the door got pulled open, we stepped into the party, I heaved inwardly.
Aiden was right, it was indeed a ball. The ceiling was as high as and everyone in dresses and suits and there was a dancefloor at the middle with waiters going around with drinks.
"Mr Ferrari" Right off the bat, he got recognized by a tall older man in black suit. He pulled me along while I was still taking in the place.
"Mr Edmond, meet my wife, Pearl" he introduced and I pushed out a smile and straight out my hand to him, he took it and placed a kiss on it.
"You look ravishing, Mrs Ferrari" I chuckled. "You both do not have drinks yet" he signalled the waiter because if he didn't, I was.
I wasn't gonna to engage in any business conversation without alcohol. I took a glass of champagne and took a sip, letting out a sigh, I continued surveying the place.
"Mr Benedicte is here tonight searching for a possible business partner, no wonder RedCo laid claim first by hosting the ball"
RedCo, Aiden was the soon to be heir to the company.
