Chapter 55-The Sister Bonding

Yesterday, we visited Natalia and Tim with gifts for the baby. It was a rare sight to everyone to see Travis with me.

I was getting tired of all the questions, so it's a good thing he came along for once. It was Monday and I was at the office brainstorming, my phone began ringing.

I swerved in my seat and answered without checking the ID. "This is Pearl Vega, who's speaking?" I asked

"Your sister"

I swerved back and picked up the file. "Bella"

"Do you mind having lunch with me today?" She asked and I paused. "We could also do a little shopping just like old times"

"Umm..."

"I know how busy you are, Pearl. Just for today, I just wanna hang" she added pleading and I let out a sigh of exasperation. "Alright "

"Great, at 2 then. I'll send the location " I glanced at the clock, it was past 12 pm. You gotta be kidding me!

"Sure" the call ended and I dropped the phone. I wasn't sure if I was ready to talk to her yet, I sighed and shut the file and turned back to the table.

Today have been quite lazy, I glanced at the flower on the side table. I forgot to water them and they were dead now. I sighed and fell back on my seat, twirling my pen in hand.

There was a knock and Kourtney walked in. "Boring Monday, am I right?" She quipped. "Yeah"

"Well, Mr Norman has agreed for a meeting. Should I schedule today?" She asked. "No, I've got lunch with Bella "

"Ooh, sister bonding"

"It's nothing like that. I'll just do the meeting tomorrow at 4" I waved it and she nodded and took it down. "But that isn't even the reason I came"

"What's up?"

"I have a check up today" she said I looked up at her. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, nothing serious, just wanna lead a healthy life, you know?" She cajoled. "Yeah sure, when's the appointment?"

"In 10 minutes, I should have informed you sooner but it's a last minute thing" she said. "It's no problem, it won't take long, would it?"

"Nah, just like an hour"

"You could go" I urged.

"Thanks boss"

An hour later, I grabbed my coat and headed out of the office to the lobby. "You leaving?" Bethany asked.

"Yes, Kourtney will be back soon, so you're in charge for now"

"Okay, I got a call from Miss Barnes' Secretary"

"The Mayor's daughter?"

"Yeah, there's gonna be a sit down dinner this Friday with the Mayor, you've got an invite" she informed and I let out a sigh. "That's nice but-"

"I didn't give an answer yet, you still got time to work on your schedule"

"Yeah, I have a lot of things on my-"

"Oh my gosh!" she cut me off, her eyes shot open as she stared at something behind me.

"What the—" I trailed off once I turned around and saw my husband walking in.

He was all in his black suit glory, what the hell is he doing here?!

He had a smile on his lips. "Surprise" he said, walking to me. "Hey" I replied unsurely.

"Thought I should surprise you a little" he explained. "How surprising" I replied, dryly.

"Nice to meet you again, Mr Ferrari" Bethany called and his gaze shifted to hers.
