I texted the girls, I felt bad for starting preparations without them. They deserve to be here more than the most do.
Thursday, I wore a white skirt with long slits with its matching blazer jacket and I topped it off with black knee length boots.
Bella texted me, they had arrived the location, I'm never early to any shit.
The door was pulled open and Hillary walked in. "Where are we going?" She asked all dressed up in a little blue dress. "Bridesmaid shopping"
We headed out to the ride. "Perfect, I've put together beautiful ideas, I'm sure they are gonna -"
"I hate to rain on your parade, Hillary. But that too has been hijacked. We are headed to Gabanna" I replied.
Moments later
"Raquel is a bitch, you should have put her in her place" She said. "And get into more fucked up argument with my family? Choosing my dress is already enough"
"What about your friends? Are they here yet?" She asked. "No, I do feel bad" I replied.
The door was pulled open and they turned back to us. "There she is!" Bella declared, coming to give me a glass of champagne.
"You invited her?" Raquel asked in disbelief. "Of course. Hillary, this is my sister Bella and that's Natalia"
"Oh, you must be the designer" Bella said, walking forward. "Yes"
"Make my little sister beautiful" she insisted and Hillary laughed.
"Can we begin now?" Natalia called out and I sighed and we took our seats. A lady walked out. "Good morning ladies, I'm Lana. I'll be helping you today for the bridesmaid gowns" The blonde woman said.
"Great"
"Who's the bride?"
I raised my glass. "I guess, you'll be the judge" I only pushed out a smile. Minutes later, they were all going through catalogues and squealing amongst themselves.
As fake as this wedding was, I still wished the girls were here. First, they don't plan my wedding, now they don't even get to pick their dresses.
"None of this are even beautiful" Hillary murmured as she flipped through the pages. "Any choices yet?"
"What about this one?" Bella asked for my opinion, I looked down at the pink design. "Is it the colour or the design?"
"Both!"
"Are we gonna address the elephant in the room or what?" We all looked up at Raquel. "Who's the bridesmaid? The maid of honour?" She asked and they turned to me.
"It has to be Bella, she's your sister" Natalia said and Bella smiled. "Yeah, it'll only be-"
"It's Kourtney"
They turned to me, I watched for Bella's reaction, her smile slowly died down. "I promised she will be my bridesmaid"
"Who even is that?" Raquel asked. "Isn't she one of your employees?" Natalia questioned.
"She's my friend. You all will get to meet them this Saturday" I replied. "Can't wait to meet the bridesmaid" Hillary said, still flipping through the pages.
I turned back to Bella, she was back looking through the designs. Moments later, we got out, the girls headed to the car.
"Bella" she turned to me. "I hope you aren't mad about the-"
"Why would I be? It's your decision"
"I know it's really—"
"You really could be selfish" she cut me off at once and I paused. " You make decisions on your dress, you pick someone else as your bridesmaid. You just don't care about anyone! I flew all the way here to be by your side not minding you didn't do same for me. Do you... " She let out a sigh.
"The whole family is here for you but you can't even show gratitude the least" she shook her head. "But I guess, you've always been like that " with that she headed to the car.

I got down from the car and stared up at the building. Sighing, I went the other way. I didn't join the girls for dinner, I headed home after Bella's outburst of honesty.
There was a lake at the back of the house, so I went there. I stood there and watched the sun set, it calmed me down in a way.
It gave me time to come up with a list of people that disliked me right now. My Mother, Natalia, Derrick, Raquel, Rosa and Bella just made the list.
Every mother and daughter couldn't like me less. I thought this wedding would get me the validation I wanted from them but it's... making shits even clearer.
Was I the problem or does everyone just suck?
"It's usually cold around this time Incase you're having thoughts of jumping in" someone quipped and I turned to see Travis, he stood beside and stared at the lake too.
"At least I don't get to marry you" I replied. "Fair"
There was silence before I finally turned to him. "Do you even have any preparations? Like... suit shopping or something?"
"Already been done"
I stared at him in disbelief. "What about...your groomsmen?"
"That's no problem" he replied. "You got the easy part" I muttered, turning forward again.
"They will be here tomorrow" he said and I turned to him. "Who'll be here tomorrow?"
He turned to me fully. "Kourtney and Bethany"
"it's Saturday not tomo-"
"You need them, so they'll be here tomorrow" he reiterated and it took seconds for me to understand.
I looked away and smiled. “One of us did get less greedy"
