"A month?"

I looked up at Mr Elias. "Is there no other way to shorten the deadline?"

"Mrs Ferrari, we have been giving detailed account on what this event should look like and in order to put it to perfection, time will be taken. It's a good thing you approved work to resume sooner. This work would have been finished in a month"

I let out a sigh and turned to the girls. "What do you think?"

"This is the event of the season, Mr Elias have a point, perfection is important. So, I say we give them a month to put everything in place" Kourtney agreed

"Yes and we could also continue with other preparations on the side whilst they do theirs" Bethany agreed and I sat up.

"Alright, Mr Elias. We are putting our trust on Lightspeed designs "

We headed down the hall to the car outside. "Have you talked to Chef Andromeda of Culinary Cosmos?" I asked. "I haven't been able to get a hold of him, he is in Taiwan" I paused and turned to Kourtney.

"You said you booked them on time, you said they were free" I replied. "Yeah but they have been booked for some event for a month now. It's a big cooking show and..."

I groaned and we hopped into the SUV. "Who else do we have?" I asked Bethany and she glanced at the clipboard.

"We have Zina from White Steaks, she's a household name" she brought up.

"No, trust me, Pearl. I got this, Culinary Cosmos is the best for this" Kourtney countered. "We don't have them and we've barely got two months now, I haven't been pitched any idea on the menu!" I lashed before turning back to Bethany.

"Set a meeting with White Steaks. I'll work with who ever is ready"

Today was a busy day, I got back to my office at 2 pm. I sighed and took off my blazer jacket, immediately I slumped on the seat, there's a knock at the door.

I sat up and cleared my throat. "Come in" the door was opened and Layla came in with a bouquet of roses and a gift basket. I shot her a confused look.

"This came in a while ago" she informed, walking forward. "Drop them here" I ordered and she placed them on the table.

"And tell Bethany to approve the invite for the sit down dinner with the Mayor and his family" I and and she nodded before heading out.

I glanced at the basket, who could send this? Definitely not the man I married.

I picked up the bouquet and sniffed it up. The roses smelled fruity, I chuckled and picked up the note in the basket.

Sorry about last night -Aiden

I sighed and placed it down. I was conflicted, I've been trying so hard not to think about last night.

I didn't know where I stood with him anymore, we just began hanging out and being cool despite the fact we shared a night together and I was married now.

He still wants something with me and is it wrong that I don't mind?

Let me be my most honest right now, I am a bit lonely and frustrated... sexually. Probably why I've been transferring  aggression at everyone today.

And the topping on this unsavory cake? That asshole last night, he pissed me off for real and I don't think I can stand him any longer.

I groaned and leaned on the table. I freaked out and ran out yesterday from the bar and now he felt bad like it was all his fault when in reality... I did want him to kiss me.

I am a confused woman. What do I want?

I definitely want a distraction, something so wrong but good at the same time, I wanted to risk all this to seek that thrill.

There was a light knock on the door, bringing me back to reality, I looked up to see Kourtney leaning by the door frame. "You down for lunch?"

Moments later.

I filled up my glass with beer and took a gulp, not a good idea getting wasted this early but this was the only way I could let out in some way.

"Feeling better now?" Kourtney asked. "I needed to get out of that stuffy office" i muttered.

"I noticed" she replied and there's silence as we ate. "How's Travis?" She asked and I paused and looked up.

I had to get myself together. "He's good " I answered tightly. "How's dinner last night?"

My hand had began tightening over the chopsticks. "Have you approved my dinner with the Mayor?" I deflected from the topic and she noticed but didn't push it.

I wasn't down to talk about that asshole.

"Yes, I thought you had a lot of things to do and couldn't accept the-"

"I've cleared up my schedule. Where's it taking place?" I asked. "At his manor in his estate, the likes of Mr and Mrs Fortune are gonna be there and other big names "

"Mr and Mrs Fortune" I repeated.

"And that same Friday, you've got the meeting with the new couple" she informed..

"Mr and Mrs Baxter, where did they say they want the wedding again?" I asked. "Miami"

I hummed in anticipation. "Nothing will change, after all it's a dinner at 8 pm. Have you got Zina?" I asked.

"Yes, the meeting is at 9 pm this Saturday" she answered and I nodded. The rest of the day was work work work till I headed back home.

This routine was killing me.
