I got up and exchanged handshakes with them. "We'll be back with our feedback" I said and they nodded and walked out. I sighed and took back my seat.
"So, what do you think? Are we accepting?" Bethany asked and I glanced at her before turning to Kourtney. "How are we on Culinary Cosmos?"
"I actually have good news, I got hold of Chef Andromeda's assistant, the cooking show will be rounded up this month. I've booked an appointment with an offer they can't resist "
I nodded and went back to the documents. "We'll wait then"
"But we just promised White Steak for a reply!" Bethany interjected. "Yes and we aren't turning them down, we're just keeping our options open" I answered her.
"Mr Elias came up with new designs, Kourtney you go take it all down" I said and she nodded and got up.
"That reminds me, Davis was here last Saturday " she informed. "Okay, I'll call him" I said and she nodded and walked out.
I sighed and raked my hair before returning back to the pad in front of me.
"So, we are having a meeting with the Baxters: this Friday. Pick a nice venue" I told Bethany and she nodded and took it down. "And uhh... Will you help pick up Hillary from the airport tomorrow?"
"Sure, what's the occasion?"
"She'll be the client's stylists. And remind me of the event on Thursday, there's a dinner at Bella's house, make sure my day isn't as eventful"
She nodded and took it all down too, I let out a sigh and rubbed my eyes lightly. I got up and grabbed the notepad before heading to my office.
It was Tuesday, I dressed more casual today. I wore baggy jeans and a black and white wooly vest. Barging into the office and paused when I saw flowers on the table.
I sighed and shut the door. I think I have an idea who it might be. It has to be the only guy gifting me all this while. I sniffed in the bouquet of roses before taking out the note and reading through it
I apologize for Saturday, it read.
Wait a damn minute, I checked the back, there was no further writing. Was this from...
I huffed in disbelief and walked to the bin before trashing it. I sat back down, the anger rising up all over again.
He's sorry for Saturday? I shook my head and turned on my laptop. He thinks this was gonna dissipate the shit he did that night?
This was the height of it all, he shouldn't even try to be sorry. There is nothing he could do to-
My phone buzzed on the side table and I looked down at it. Picking it up, i read the text.
Can we talk?
Who was this one now? I was getting tired of all this anonymous messages. Just as I was about sending a reply...
Another message came in.
It's Aiden, let's talk please. Let's meet at The Grind
He referred to a cafe not too far from my office. I sighed and got up, grabbing my bag and there was Bethany walking in.
"Are you leaving?" She asked. "Yes, I may be back. Just handle anything that comes up"
She nodded and I walked out. Jeffrey pulled the door open for me and I got in. "The Grind" I supplied location and he drove out.

Our orders got placed in front of us, it was caramel macchiato and scones. I shot the waiter a smile before steering the drink lightly and then taking a sip
"Do you like it?" Aiden asked, I looked up at him. "Yeah, it's sweet"
Sighing, "You wanted to talk" I brought up and he nodded and sat up. "Pearl, I... I don't know where to start from. It's been a week, I've been tryna get hold of you"
"I know, I've been kinda...busy"
"Pearl, I overstepped my boundaries. I wanna apologize, I'm so sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable in anyway" he apologized, leaning on the table, I stared at him, the sincerity were in his eyes.
"I don't want anything to come between us, I don't want you getting the wrong idea about me"
"It's not you, as I said, things have been eventful, it's been stressful. I was never mad at you, I just had to think. We were both too endowed in the moment and I bolted because that was the only thing that came to mind "
"Like a reflex action?"
"Exactly. You get it" I agreed and he looked down with a smile. "I'm deeply sorry though, it won't happen again "
I reached out for his hand on the table. "Let's not ruin the afternoon by dwelling in the past. How's your day?" I asked, taking another sip from the tea.
"Well, I had a busy day at the office"
"CEO vibes"
He chuckled. "Yes, we are about closing a deal, so a lot of work is being done"
"I understand, I was at Utah last weekend for a business dinner" I brought up. "With Travis?"
"Yeah, one of the reasons you couldn't get hold of me" I added, taking a bite of the scone. "I'm glad we're doing this now" he admitted and I smiled.
"Yeah"
I stayed at that cafe till evening, Aiden made me forget all the hurt I felt, he made my day by just talking to me. Will i be able to hold myself back?
I might be falling for this man.
He was sweet and kind, always wanting my opinion, looking for ways to make me smile. He was unreal.
Why can't the rest of them just be like him?! If I'm being specific on the rest of them, I meant the Jackass I was married to.
I went straight home and called the office to make sure everything was being rounded up. Getting into the house, "Welcome back, Mrs Ferrari" Williams greeted
"Thank you"
I headed up the stairs with that smile still on my lips, things might be bleak but they are still nice people out there.
